Minimum 30% positive. That 7% deficiency itself was responsible for 3 lost points from Hill especially since Glass and Kreklow are not the best OOS setters. The second and third sets were only lost by two points so if Hill had only 33% negative instead of 41% negative USA probably could've won the match. Obviously Glass was having less than average night so no guarantee, Karch be Karching you know. So our libero and the DS were only at the minimum excellent receiving rates for an outside hitter? Given their roles, shouldn't they be higher? What you're asking for as a minimum positive percentage (66%) would be an elite percentage for a receiver against top competition. And you're asking for that as the minimum. (For context, Larson was at 56/29 in WGP Finals - and it seems you've all agreed the competition there was crap). Do you really think we lost because of passing yesterday? It wasn't like we couldn't run middle. We ran a ton of it. Our middles just didn't put the ball down at nearly the rate we expect. You're right, it's really the setter's fault. Back to the root problem, roster and starting roster selection. Nothing to be done till that's fixed. But the right roster would preclude Hill even more, not to mention Lowe from starting.
