One thing I've noticed so far this season is that our setters don't look very quick to the ball in transition. Either they are releasing too late (on balls that clearly aren't theres) or they just aren't very speedy in general. It results in a lot of poor sets to the OH.
Just an observation.

In order to ensure pre-conference wins, new UW coach scheduled a team of servers from Buffalo Wild Wings for this afternoon match. Most of them can play and still have time to change and report for work by 4 p.m.

Those are tough scores, right on the heels of tough results last weekend. It still blows my mind that she was hired with only 1 season as a volunteer under her belt. I don't care how good of a player you are, coaching is different than playing...

Washington, even though they have played subpar competition, is the biggest surprise. They're playing very good volleyball. The second OPP being Jones is a little IFFY, but other than that, they're doing good.

There are real limits to the conclusions you can draw from preseason matches against overmatched opponents. I'm going to the Murray State game tonight, which should be a little more competitive.
As a Husky season ticket holder, I continue to be displeased with the wimpy preseason scheduling. Note to Keegan Cook: please schedule better opponents in future seasons.

Getting good teams to come to Seattle can be tough - Wisconsin came, lost, then canceled the series. Generally, for tough pre-conference opponents, UW has to travel (and be invited).

Yeah, yeah, I know that West Coast teams have problems attracting good teams in the preseason, but let's face it, almost every other Pac 12 team has a more challenging schedule (except WSU). Will Cook at least try?
