Tennessee State, Winthrop and Chicago State are in the same tournament this weekend. At least one team will pick up a win!

Virgina tech could wind up being this year's RPI darling. The team that the seed contenders wish they would have scheduled THIS year, will end up over scheduling next year, only to be disappointed by next year's virgina tech record. *cough* north Carolina.

It also looks like kansas is well on its way to a seed, again, given the rpi advantage the big 12 schedule gives. Every unseeded team will be hoping to be placed in that subregional. Easy pickings, *cough* ULAR/Oregon State. What a joke. That seed should have went to BYU. Now that Nebraska has left the Big 12, a team with 6 conference lossed and ZERO preseason or regular season wins against other seeded teams should NEVER be given a seed. This should be written in the NCAA criteria. In fact I think this should apply to ALL conferences other than the big 10 and pac 12. It's not that unreasonable, considering that in the last 10 tournaments, teams currently in those two conferences account for 70% of all elite 8 spots, totaling 7 different teams from EACH conference. And If you exclude perennial non pac 12 and big 10 top teams like Texas and Florida from the equation, the stranglehold on the elite 8 is closer to 85%.

Virginia Tech is going to return its top two scorers next year, I think they are going to be just fine again next year. Maybe even better, depending on who's going to play libero.

And If you exclude perennial non pac 12 and big 10 top teams like Texas and Florida from the equation, the stranglehold on the elite 8 is closer to 85%. 1) Kansas is a long way to being well on their way to a seed. They play at Wyoming this week and Marquette (@ Wyoming) and then have Gonzaga and Missouri State next week. It is not like the Big 12 season is full of cupcakes.
2) Kansas is currently #16 in Pablo - so at this point, they are far from being a potential seed eye sore.
3) Kansas has greatly benefited from RPI scheduling in the past, but not this year. They are currently projected to have the #42 SOS RPI - mostly due to the terrible scheduling of South Dakota State this year (as did Illinois).
4) I agree that BYU should have been seeded last year - I lobbied all season for this. That was last season, this is a new season.
As for Kansas - they graduated their two most productive hitters from last season. For replacements, they have yet to have a Freshman play this year. They have two Senior transfers, but both have played only about 1/2 the sets. This team is most likely better than the previous season(s), despite those 1st 3 sentences. Why, they have a couple Sophomores that will be AA. K.Payne has moved from M2 to RS - and she is putting up elite numbers. And their setter was very good as a Freshman last year - probably better this year. Their 2014 class is rather special.

That just means they are doing their job with RPI scheduling for the conference. If you're going to finish at the bottom, GET WINS!!!

What would be interesting is which of the winners has played the lightest schedule, and which of the winless has played the toughest...
