Now that the teams have been through two weekends of out of conference tournaments, I'm interested to see how people feel the conference will end up once league play is completed. Going a step beyond, how many make it to the post season? I know that this was done several weeks ago, but not only did I not find it, but I also believe that perspectives may have changed.
Penn State Illinois Nebraska Ohio State Wisconsin Purdue Michigan Minnesota Michigan State Northwestern* Iowa* Indiana* Maryland* Rutgers*
*will miss the tournament

I really like the way that both Minnesota and Ohio State have put things together after slow starts early on so far. I expect both to be consistently in the top 25 this season. Penn State proved in their match against Stanford that there really is no team (besides maybe Texas) on their level. The B1G is shaping up to have another strong year.

PSU is again a cut above the rest, but IL, NE, TX, FL, Stanford, USC, and Wisconsin all have the pieces to compete with PSU IMO.

Penn State looks like the favorite yet again (unfortunately for the fans of the other teams like me), followed by Nebraska and Illinois in either order at this point, I think. I have hopes that Wisconsin can improve and climb into contention, but I think they are below the top three at this point. I think Purdue and Ohio State are the next two in line, and they could also make a move up. Minnesota had a good weekend after a tough start, and I think the Michigan schools have talent, although MSU is hurting after the loss of Bailey. I think Bond will have Iowa improving, and Northwestern could also be a threat to make the tournament, although they had a really tough weekend. IU can be tough at home, and Maryland and Rutgers are probably still working to make the jump, although the Terps have done well thus far.

Psu should go into conference play 11-0 and there's good chance they won't have dropped a set. Those first two weeks of big play will be interesting.

Outside of Stanford (you may make a case that a Simpson-less Colorado is good competition) PSU has the usual pre-season opponents scheduled like Hostess U., Little Debbie St., U of Tastee Cake, etc.

You don't NEED to "rank" the Big 10 because they will rank themselves if you wait a couple of months.
Anyway, it's a unbalanced schedule and we haven't yet seen the injuries or growth that will define the season. Too Early.

The penn state classic usually has teams come in with ties to psu. This year buffalo and blair brown.

I think it's going to be a tight race for for the top between Nebraska, PSU, and Illinois. One of these good teams will be upset by one another.

It sounds better if you say it in positive terms. At least one of these teams victorious over the other two in a surprising way.

The Big and PAC in particular dont have to spend much energy in trying to get great competition outside of conference. You usually see a marquee match/tournament, and then whoever. Their league provides all the excitement you could want and more.
