What 16s teams should be good this year?
Balboa 16s - What does their line up look like? 949 16 - Did their middle transfer to another team? MB Surf 16 - Did everyone stay and they add two players or did anyone leave? HBC 16 - Did they add anyone or lose anyone? SASVBC 16 - Any changes in their club? Pali 16 - Did they add anyone?

Highlights of MB SURF NIKE 16's from last year. They are a sick team that should be the frontrunners for 17 Open gold. JP Reilly is the best outside hitter and maybe even the best player in the age group (#1 in video), and Chris McBee is not far behind him (#11 in video). Pascal Jakowec is a 6'7 middle with a lot of potential (#16 in video) and they are adding Ian Parish, a 6'10 middle blocker who played on MB SURF NIKE 17's last year. The libero will continue to be Louis Murray (#19 in video) and he's definitely in the talk for best 2017 libero with the likes of Gage Worsley, Spencer Wickens and Cole Paxson. They are adding John Hunter from SCVC 16s, a big pin who played on Legacy last year, and they bring back Albert Shepherd (#7 in video). All three will compete for the opposite position. They are bringing in Chris Hall (last year: SMBC 16 Black and USA Select Continental) to set, and he's top 5 in the age group. They quite possibly could be the best club team we've seen in a long time in the 17s level. It will be interesting to see how they do against the 18s teams this year like 949, Balboa and SCVC.

Balboa 16s - got Nick Alacano (lefty oppo from Balboa 14s who won a gold medal last year), Patrick Wynn (back up outside on 949 15 Black last year), Cole Whitelaw (3 rotation setter on HBC 15's last year), and Davis Hombrecher (back up libero on HBC 15's last year) so they could be pretty good 949 16 - everyone from last year stayed except for David Chou and Patrick Wynn, so they will lose some depth. Did add two pretty raw players though. Starting lineup will probably be the same. MB Surf 16 - added Matt Johnson (Setter - SCVC 16s last year - Loyola HS) and Jaxon Drake (Middle Blocker - SG Elite 15s last year - Loyola HS - USA Select A1) and also middle blocker Chris Mai, and none of their key players left so they should be really good HBC 16 - Alex Anastassiades (6'7 oppo) moved up to the 17s division for HBC, and Cole Whitelaw (setter) went to Balboa 16s, but everyone else stayed and they didn't really add anyone SASVBC 16 - lost a couple players including their setter for Outrigger 16s (newly formed team), still have their two outsides #9 and #11, new coach (SASVBC going to SCVA qualifier and Outrigger 16s going to Chicago Qualifier) Pali 16 - everyone coming back except for oppo (#2 Alex Lee) who has decided to pursue water polo. Adding a couple tall guys that could possibly be a legit second middle, because their biggest problem was that second middle spot. Other Teams to watch out for in the 16s division: Outrigger 16s (newly formed team from Hawaii, have possibly the best libero in the age group, going to the Chicago Qualifier and should qualify for open) HPSTL B16 Royal (adding 6'3 lefty oppo who can crush and best hitter from HPSTL 14s last year) Ultimate B16 Gold (adding setter and outside from Ultimate 16s last year) Ocean Bay 16 Quiksilver (adding 6'4 outside from North Carolina, James Hartley, that is possibly the top 2019 recruit) MVVC 16 Red (all pin hitters are 6'4 or taller, new middles)

It looks like 949 18s and Balboa 18s could be the ones to challenge SCVC's crown this year

Do you know where he is going to play? Rumored that he could go to Coast 17 or 18s, possibly wave 17s. Does anybody know why he is not joining Spectrum?
Colin Bailey is found on Coast 18's Roster with the other good players from Seaside Garland Peed, Zach Thomsen, McKay Walker and Reece Salmons. No good players remaining at Seaside 18s. Looks like a brand new group. Coast could be stronger with those additions.

This team is deep and might be the frontrunner for 18 open gold. Woods and Castellana are probably not even going to play and they could start on most 18 open teams and are probably going to play D1. Strange might be the best oppo in the whole age group, and Ctvrtlik might be the best setter. Noah Dyer is probably the top player in the entire 2016 class. I'm excited about this team to see how they match up against SCVC and 949 18s, along with HPSTL and A`o a Koa.

Because HPSTL 17s got 25th last year

Do you mean Sports Performance instead of High Performance? Because HPSTL 17s got 25th last year No, that wasn't a typo. Shawn Hughes, one of the top outsides in the class of 2016, is repeating 18s and will give this team the go-to hitter that they didn't have before. Leo Henken (on 16 Royal last year) is playing up this year and he's an absolute monster and will most likely be the starting opposite. George Huhmann (7'0) has the experience of playing with the Youth National team and should be even better than he was last year. This team is for real. And don't forget about Alex Gettinger on the outside either, he's really underrated. SPRI will also be good though, lead by Meyer, Bischoff and Kostakis.

In fact, I'm really surprised that he's on 18 Royal at all. From what I've seen from him, I'm not impressed at all.
