OK. so I will be in SoCal this weekend and plan on attending the Hawaii vs UC Riverside match. First time attending an away match. Any tips for a newbie? Also, any recommendations for a good place to eat dinner nearby before the match? Mahalo!

yelp is your friend for meals. (unless you're one of those people who believe most of the yelp reviews are not credible because they're made by the restaurants themselves or firms they've hired.)

If you're a fan of Thai Food, there's a place pretty close to campus called "Royal Orchid" that's really good. Right next to campus and walking distance to the gym is a dive called "The Getaway"--fried foods, burgers, pizzas, and cold brews! You can grab a couple of stumble over to the gym...

One thing going in favor of Higgins and the Wahine, is that, after they play UC Irvine at SSC, they have a whole two weeks off before playing again. That gives Higgins, and her ankle, an additional week to heal.

Four interesting things about the match:
1. Kendra Koelsch gets to set a whole match for the first time in her Wahine career.
2. Kahakai may be the DS because she's the third string setter.
3. Will Shoji rotate libero duties among Anderson, Guinasso, and Ponce? That, I'd like to see.
4. Second homecoming for Kalei Greeley.

It is good that Kendra Koelsch, and the Wahine, have 3 matches and one whole week of practice before facing LBSU, to work out any kinks. Not to mention work out any kinks with the Libero position, also.

and greeley was playing really well before that injury... 4k, hitting .444, 6 digs ... probably motivated playing in front of family and friends in her hometown.
hope it's not anything serious...
