I can find proposals for this from back in January and February, but I'll be damned if I can find anything more recent. Anyone have a link?
Here I was trying to enjoy a match and all of a sudden this nonsense starts ...

Was it the Oklahoma / Iowa State 5 minute debacle?

Why isn't this a big deal? It's like they didn't want anyone to even know ...

Was it the Oklahoma / Iowa State 5 minute debacle? No. It was Minnesota-Northwestern. Four of them. Total buzz kill.

They were handled pretty well in the UW ILL match. What went wrong?

It just takes too long and the crowd can't see what's being looked at. It's not worth it, imo. If we are at the point humans can't referee sports then we are in trouble.
I hate micro touches. Hitters don't deserve the bail out. If you can't see it, who cares? Is there some talent in catching a middle blocker's fingernail as you launch the ball three feet (or further) out?
And get off my damned lawn!!

They were handled pretty well in the UW ILL match. What went wrong? I don't think they were handled poorly--they just stopped everything dead and interrupted the flow of the match. But then, I don't really like instant reply in any sport -- Just another crabby ol' timer, I guess!

I thought PAC-12 was going to do it this year, but it seems clear that they didn't. I've seen some incredibly bad calls already in the first week of the season and there were no replay reviews.

Apparently the B1G is only doing it in 3 venues.
The pluses do not outweigh the minuses.

Apparently the B1G is only doing it in 3 venues. The pluses do not outweigh the minuses. You say that, until you see a play like happened in the UW-WSU match where an ace serve landed at least a foot in bounds and everybody knew it except the line judge and the refs. Replay would have taken a whole 10 seconds to fix that call.

The entire Big 12 is doing it. After seeing several replays it is clear the line call can be seen but the touches off the block are almost impossible to see beyond a reasonable doubt. I say only review line calls and it will also limit dead time.

Not a fan of Instant Replay, but I'm all for Referee evaluations. It's not something they require but I've gotten into the habit of sending film to our assignor so he can see how bad or good some of these officials are. If I have a problem with a referee it's usually a consistency issue and not a judgement issue. People are going to make mistakes, I can forgive that. But when egos get in the way, it makes for an ugly match.

I think with some tweaking of the camera systems it can be a good thing but like the match I saw earlier between OK and Iowa State, for some reason the ref didn't see that the ball went off players fingers even though replay on TV showed it clear as day in slow mo. They were supposed to have 5 camera angles at that match. Don't understand why they would not have ESPN's angle along with the rest. If it matches International level as far as replays being shown on big screens at venue's, I think it would work fine. 1st year of a new thing always has kinks and a learning curve by those using systems.

There was one in the UW-WSU match where the ball hit almost right in front of the linesman, a good six inches in, and she called it out. Yeah, no replay reviews in the Pac-12. I'd like to see them at least in the regionals.
