I'm recent to the forum, have lurked and poked around here and there. I was at a match at a Large Division 1 private institution not too long ago. I had been to matches here several times over the years and have had no problems or issues. I had even got to know some of the other local club coaches who attended over the years. I was bit vocal on this day regarding some slight criticism of one of the OH's play. I did see a few parents glance over at me. Didn't think it was a big deal. Once the match had ended I was standing on the bleachers waiting to see if any people I know might be there. There was the typical post match activity on court with parents, athletes and students talking and doing photos etc. After waiting around, sending messages on my phone and people watching a bit, One group even asked me to take a photo of them with their student athlete. There was some staff there standing around and cleaning up. I walked out the arena towards my car when a group of campus police officers approach me. They start interrogating me asking me who I knew there etc. I told them I was there for the match and was leaving. They ask for my ID and do a check. They claimed a few parents had called in claiming there was a person making them feel uneasy by standing there. How did this ever end for you? He's probably Syndrome.

They assigned a University lawyer as your contact in case you sued them. No opinion on situation as I don't have enough information to form one. Some parents are very protective of their daughters. You could have inadvertently offended a big donor. Div 1 school but some have small crowds so if you were loud you stand out. If it was racially related, you may have a case, but will need a lawyer to pursue.
I knew of one case in high school soccer where a parent from Balkans (refugee family) was very loud and would yell what was alleged to be derogatory insults. He was warned several times at 2 to 4 games to no avail and was ultimately banned. I was never sure what he was yelling. He denied he said anything derogatory. I do know people from that culture are very vociferous and passionate about their soccer, and he was. Did not agree with the action taken, in part because even if derogatory , questioned whether anyone actually knew. But not under my control and I did not get involved. Whatever he was saying did not sound like positive cheering.
Not sure this is relative to this thread. But included as it might be relative. Some cultures are loud. Some American fan groups are very reserved. Not college fans in my experience, but it was a private school. Again this maybe unrelated.
