Quietly because they play no one of value in conference play. Can you just F off with your prickish comments? That's all you ever do these days. Easy there Southie. Boof simply posted what many people are thinking.

Saw part of ISU/OK match last week. I really like ISU's libero Caitlin Nolan.

Nicole Dalton been playing back row instead of Lauren Beard. I think it's Kat Brooks who needs to see some time on the bench. 27-25 Texas Kat Brooks has had a very good season.

While teams are battling it out Texas is quietly taking care of business. The race for the NC is wide open. Sorry, but I won't wear the burnt orange glasses. With the current lineup, Texas a pretty good team, but not a national championship team. And Texas is playing in a lousy, lousy volleyball conference and this will hurt Texas. Injuries are piling up for Texas and limiting Elliott's options. But injuries can be a positive as they provide opportunities for other players provided the injured players return to action. For example, the move to RS for Yaz has been a pleasant surprise and timely since it comes during Big 12 play against average competition, overall. Dalton playing DS tonight for the entire match is a good sign about her health and demonstrates Elliott prefers her talent and experience over freshman Beard who has had a pretty good freshman season. With White out and Ebony most likely out also, Texas needs some good fortune to advance to Omaha. Tonight, Chiaka was off by her standards, but Molly had a huge night. Prieto was off, but Amy and Yaazi had big matches. This will get Texas through a weak Big 12 but is of concern when the competition toughens in December.

I don't give a damn what "many people" are thinking. You and boof and the "many people" can go start your own thread on that topic if you want to; but, if you think you are gonna bring those jabs on here and crap on this thread without some replies, you have another thing coming.

Haven't read all the comments (with boof you know what you are going to get) As for Texas, after pre-conference it's just pretty hard to determine how good they really are. That of course isn't their fault.

BYU and Texas made Final Four last season. Guess their conferences hurt them in preparing for NCAA tournament play.
All I can say is you play the opponents on your schedule, and try to improve every match.

All I can say is you play the opponents on your schedule, and try to improve every match. Yes, you play the opponents on your schedule and try to improve every match, but to not acknowledge Texas is in a very weak "power 5" conference is not helpful. Yes, we made the final 4 the past two seasons, but as soon as we ran into the wrong opponent, we were not very competitive and toast. That's where playing in a weak conference hurts us. Right now our high ranking is based on reputation and the good fortune of starting the season ranked so high. Jerritt has built a very reputable program and is respected by his peers. That's good, so let's hope we run the table the rest of conference play and the PAC 12 and Big 10 schools continue to beat up each other. As a general rule, I don't care about the ranking unless it influences seeding in the post season. I'll leave that to all the experts who follow Pablo, Juan, etc. I sure am happy we have the regional in Austin and hope and hope that our players are consistent and that several of them don't have an off night at the same time, especially if we run into that wrong opponent again. Also hope no more injuries and that Dalton continues to get stronger and somehow Ebony is cleared to play.

Very formidable wall when Yaz is on RS and Chi slides over. They had some nice blocks on ISU OHs Chiaka was off last night. I thought the passing was pretty good, but she didn't seem to be a primary option for Collins last night. Chiaka has incorporated a pretty good tip to her game, but it did seem to me last night she was going to that too many times. But that's me. I did like Yazzie at right side. She put up a decent block and she can pound the ball. And her approach from RS seems to be much better for her and Collins than when she played OH. Her defense is not good, so her at RS instead of OH makes up for that a lot imo. She's a pretty big player, so I am very interested in seeing her development after a year of conditioning. Actually, a year of conditioning for her, White and Johnson should have Texas in pretty good shape next year, especially if Ebony is healthy. I like the chemistry of this team, but not confident right now this team can advance to the Final 4 with so many key injuries. Going to need some good fortune and consistency from Amy and Prieto at the same time and a big block. Molly looked real good against Iowa State. If we can get 10 kills from her along with Chiaka doing her thing, the team could do well. I also liked that Collins did not attempt any hitting attempts and focused on setting. My guess is she was directed to do this by the coaching staff which suits her game better anyway.

Continuously bashing this conference really gets old. Why not just say Texas is good and leave it at that. So sick of hearing everyone in this conference sucks besides Texas. Kansas is ranked 12th AND are 15-0, while ISU is RV. Kansas has wins against Arkansas, Gonzaga, Wyoming and Duke. They are a very solid team. Iowa State has a win over then ranked opponent Texas A&M, took Nebrasa to 4 with Nebraska taking 2 of the sets only by 2 (23-25, 23-25) and did take Texas in one set to 26-24. K-State took a set off Wisconsin and took both Arkansas and Creighton to 5. And when Texas goes to Kansas and Iowa State this year, I don't think that these are gimmies or going to be cake walks. While this conference isn't the "high an almighty B1G or Pac-12" give it a rest about the Big 12. This conference consistently sends 4-5 teams to the tourney every year. "No one of value" Praise Texas all you want, they deserve the credit as they are very good, but quit bashing the conference.

Play in the big or pac and they are not top 4 seed every year. They have that benefit of not playing there . Never said they wernt good team. Just don't see them as a consistent top 4 team if they play in one of those conferences I was referring to the line that while everybody was beating everybody else up Texas was quietly going about their business. Of course it's quiet because they are not playing anyone that the rest of country is excited to see play.

All I can say is you play the opponents on your schedule, and try to improve every match. Why I said that their schedule isn't their fault. I think their schedule doesn't hurt them for "NCAA play" but it may hurt them in winning the NCAA. Of course that is impossible to measure. Texas is very good, and one of about 8 teams that I think could win it all.

Pretty obvious that those posting here don't want to discuss the ISU @ Texas match.
And, I didn't begin this thread yesterday to create a circle jerk or chest-bumping praising the B1G or PAC. Find another place to do that.

Damn boof.......F*cking up the Texas thread again!
Don't expect Nwanebu back this season and as mentioned last night White is being red-shirted. Still have talent to go far, but it will be tough to go all the way.
Sometimes when your back is up against the wall and you don't have hope things sometime just come together and everyone steps up and surprises you.
