When im going to attack and jump, I feel like i miss the timing of the ball. I mean my coach and my whole team said that im getting in contact with the ball only after i start descending. I tried to wait long before doing the steps thingy, but then it seems like im too late. If any of you know how to fix this problem please tell me

Practice catching the ball, with your arms outstretched high above you, at the peak of your jump. That will help with your timing.

Check how far back you are on your approach too. It sounds like you're getting to the ball too early, which is why you're hitting it on the descent. You might need to back up a step or two to help.
Talk to the coach and setter too...you might be better off with a faster, lower set. When I was hitting outside (rotation 1 as I was an opposite), I wanted a 4 set at 5 location. I hit that ball a lot better than a traditional 5 at the pin.

I agree as someone who has set people with the exact same problem faster set is the way to go. If your setter can do that it will help your timing a lot.

Well im playing as an outside hitter and mostly on rotation 4 and the sets im getting right now are at the pin and pretty fast, i mean if the set will be faster it will be too fast.

It sounds like you need to completely change your approach then. I'd start off by moving back a step and seeing what that does.
