how about none (or one) of the above is deserving - if anyone Arizona ASU & Oregon are so so-so Colorado would be a better choice All are still better choices than Long Beach (and Pablo agrees!)

In the past couple weeks Oregon beat UCLA who in turn beat SC.
Definitely earned a spot in the tourney.

All of them compared to some of the other teams likely to make it.

You're right. My bad. The ... What are Arizona? Bears? Not Ducks. AZ over OR. Wildcats (aka Mildcats) Cal (Golden Bears) and UCLA (Bruins) are bears Oregon is Ducks ASU is Sun Devils USC is Trojans (who names their school mascot after a condom brand?) OSU is Beavers (and do not talk about "wide open beavers" or everyone breaks out laughing) UW is Huskies WSU is Cougars Colorado is Buffaloes Utah is Utes (as in the Indian tribe - somehow not considered racist in this day and age) And Stanford is named after a color - Cardinal (not Cardinals as in the bird, but a color - whose mascot is a tree)

This is why Oregon's SOS is strong. The majority of LBSU's Top 100 wins (why you think Top 100 wins is an important cutoff is beyond me, but you keep throwing it around like it's meaningful) total you're throwing around is over teams in the bottom quintile of the Top 100 - not impressive. And we split with Colorado, if you think they're good enough to get in, you shouldn't give them credit for a good win for beating us but not credit us for beating them.

top 100 isn't the ONLY cut-off, but it helps DIFFERENTIATE what a team has done, it also shows if a team (like Oregon) can win games
I'm giving Oregon credit - but basically they have 3 good wins among a BUNCH of opportunities
Oregon was 2-3 against teams 51-100, why in hades that so special?
Long Beach was 5-1 against teams 51-100 - Long Beach proved they could be good teams more often than Oregon did - look at W-L % for each team top 50 & top 100
yeah, so Oregon got that ONE top 25 win when they had NINE chances, LB had 3 chances and yeah they went 0-3
but they also beat two teams in the top 30, so that is more than Oregon beat
if you look closely Oregon is very very marginal - sorry to burst your bubble, but congrats on getting in -
sheesh

But unlike the Beach they did enough to get in. Once again, why is 51-100 important? Beach went 4-1 vs 80-100. Beating (most of the time) a bunch of teams who aren't even close to good enough to merit at-large consideration doesn't DIFFERENTIATE anything.

According to that article ASU, AZ and Oregon are not bubble teams cuz they're in the top 30 under Pablo. Unfortunately the committee doesn't go by Pablo rankings and all 3 are on the edge of the bubble, thus this poll.

I think all 3 will get in and I have been impressed with Oregon of late but I absolutely agree with ccmanlb regarding the PAC 12 teams having more opportunity to better their RPI in conference. The Big West really let Hawai'i and LBSU down this season.

If Macey gets hurt in the first game of the season, ASU would even be in the equation. Which brings the question, what are ASU's hopes for next year? ??
