As point of info, Simpson and Reinecke never played a match together in club. Maggie Griffin (now at Michigan State) set Reinecke in those last two championship team. J Simpson spent most of her 2002 club season playing for SPRI 1st team when they had to fill some holes due to injuries (M Eckert). JS was called from the 2nd team as a backup setter/RS. So at least they (JS and TR) had been practicing/scrimmaging together.

Simpson and Reinecke played on the same club team in 2002, no doubt. But because Simpson didn't start, she probably scrimmaged against Reinecke's team in practice, rather than set for her. Anyway, it's all immaterial two years later anyway.
Wish Pete would pick a setter and go with her for a while. I noticed last night that he used two again in the match against Iowa. Also noticed that Weidner sat the entire match. Looks like he's settled on Carlini for the left side. That leaves Wisconsin starting one senior, two juniors, and everybody else underclassmen. Good for the future, but potentially not so good for this year.

Another note about last night's match against Iowa...
Wisconsin had 1 service ace, and 13 errors!! Iowa had 6 of each. That's not a promising ratio, I don't care how much you're putting your opponent out of system. 13 errors in 3 games is a lot!
Carlini played really well for the Badgers... Had 17 kills, hit .387 with 8 digs -- but also helped with 4 service errors of her own. She's really catching on quick on the LS.
Odie also hit over .300 (11k), aubrey meierotto hit .421 (9k), and the middles hit .389 (shaw - 9 k) and .625 (Reineke - 5k). Team outhit the hawks .370 to .043. Wack with another 21 dig performance and no reception errors.
