After Semi-Finals: Thursday: 0/2 Overall: 49/62
VT's overall score technically speaking can still improve by 1 since Nebraska was the most (very loosely termed) picked team to win it all.
Scores: Thursday Ave: 0.4/2 (a bit ahead of last year’s 0.3) Thursday Breakdown: 2(3) 1(35) 0(51) Incompl: 0(4) Overall Ave: 46.6/62 (a bit behind last year’s 47.4) Overall Breakdown: 53(2) 52(3) 51(5) 50(8) 49(9) 48(17) 47(14) 46(12) 45(9) 44(6) 43(1) 42(2) 41(1) Incompl: 34(1) 28(1) 26(1) 25(1)
We are down to two finalists, one picked Nebraska and the other Texas, so no need for tie-breaker.
Poll (loosely termed) scores: 47/58 AVCA 50/62 Pablo 50/62 RPI 45/58 RichKern
These are final poll scores since none picked Texas or Nebraska to win it all.
VT's Final Picks: 63. Nebraska v. Texas: (19,6)

I should clarify with the following: The PTW contest results (and polls results reported in the PTW thread) are based on the teams chosen before any of the games have been played and are not updated to show the actual teams playing in rounds subsequent to the first one. So if a high seed and consensus final four team is eliminated in the first round, anyone who picked that team for the following rounds automatically loses. On the other hand, RichKern (and it sounds like vbbetterthanbb in his "VT's overall score" calculate results a different way. RK looks at each succeeding game after the first round on a fresh basis to determine a win or loss based upon the last poll rankings for the two actual teams in each such game and compares itself with the other polls after changing their initial picks to be consistent with the RK method of scoring.

Congrats 14u2nv! Dang. This was a close match. Sets 1 and 2 could have gone either way. Oh well. At least I tied for second place on my first PTW tournament. Good luck to everyone next year!

I did complete mine; I just did it with the team and and game #s. If you follow those #'s; you will see that I had Nebraska all the way! Oh well Next year I'll know better! GO HUSKERS

GO HUSKERS I see what you did now!!! That was too much a test for my brain . Nevertheless, luckily your "therefore" new score does not create a controversy as to who's the real PTW-NCAA winner The Huskers look good for next year

Thanks patrick643! It was an exiting, well-played match. A big thank you to publius and vbbetterthanbb for their work putting on the contests. It's funny, I do the bracket game by game and was kind of surprised at the result. I'm not sure I would have come to the same conclusion had I "begun with the end in mind."
