Always happy to create a new trend, not something I am used to in the world of fashion! Are most transfers to D3 kids who walked on elsewhere? I think it'd be a hard sell to get a kid to give up a scholarship to go to a spendy private or out-of-state public school. I have not done any research, but by experience, I would say most were "walk ons". You also get some who were on scholarship but saw little to no play time. Extremely rare is the scholarship starter who transfers. However, I do know of one, years ago Central College out of Iowa had a player transfer from Kansas who was the freshman of the year in the Big 12 (i think that was their conference back then). No surprise, Central went on to win back-to-back national titles and set the record for longest win streak. I was told she just did not like the big school atmosphere and decided to transfer to a small school.

Division 1 fan looking for a top tier, 1st or 2nd team AA caliber RS/OH, preferably with three years of eligibility left, for his favorite school. Must enjoy the colors cardinal and white and not have an aversion to striped rodent-eating mascots.

Maybe start with two or three with the disclaimer, "scholarship may or may not be available"

Here are a few off the top of my head in recent years, and I guess I don't know their scholarship status but these were all impact players at D1 who left for D3. Michelle Lawrence was the Mountain West rookie of the year at Colorado State, and transferred to Cal Lutheran the following season. Allie Frappier was 2nd Team All-Ivy as a freshman at Yale, and then transferred back to Pomona-Pitzer her sophomore year. Tegan LaBerge led Drake in blocks and was 3rd in kills, before transferring to Bethel for her sophomore year. Jess McAlvany played every match at Davidson as a freshman and then went to Emory.

To the coach above offering schollie for Spring 2016 transfer and requesting DM:
I’ve followed the instructions and sent multiple DMs (but no PMs) and received no response. Initially, DMs included a Dearest Message and a Delicate Message follow-up. No reply. Then a Desirable Message, Delicious Message, and a Delectable Message. Again, no reply. Desperate Message. Nothing. Dire Message. Silence. School starts soon. Sending Delirious Message momentarily. Hopefully, no need to send a Deleterious Message.
Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kean University is a first-class D3 program right outside of New York City. First class meaning high D1 level facilities. D3 meaning need based aid, only - out of state is about $29k a year. We are looking for help primarily at setter, but are open to taking other positions if it is the right player. Don Perkins doperkin@kean.edu
