My money is on Abril winning the L job. wait, who? Abril Bustamante, part of SC’s top beach pair who has one season of indoor eligibility left. Right side in juniors back in the day.

It does look like this 2020 class will start to break the mold for USC and have indoor/sand players from the very beginning. Tommi Stockham here in Vegas is pretty good.

What do people see for the lineup for 2019? Who plays Libero, Adams? Is Candice Denny playing MB, OPP, or does she have to sit a year? I think Baptista played well and earned her spot last year. This should be a strong team in 2019 as long as their passing holds up. USC is the biggest enigma of this year. If all of those players come to play, they have enough talent to challenge for a national title.

wait, so she’s joining the indoor team? If that’s true I want her at L too! Remember how well this worked for Alexa Strange? Totally different situations though. Alexa was tried out during fall practices after her senior season in an effort to add sorely needed setting depth. She later left for non-volleyball reasons. Abril spent some time with the indoor team during the spring and is expected to provide ball control. Also - completely different staffs on the indoor side.

I can't imagine Abril not turning pro. Her spirit alone would be a benefit to any team, but I expect she's looking for a sand partner.

She did play middle one of the years for RB but played OH for Sunshine then Mizuno. She was not an OPP. Maybe stepped in a time or two at OPP but that definitely was not her position,
