No idea where she would go. She is a so Cal girl, so a number of choices are around. Hawaii possibly, San Diego maybe, but really no idea. A degree from anywhere is better than no degree at all, but not that many offer the power of USC. Locally, it would be UCLA, Cal, and Stanford. However I don't know how important that is to her.

Tough question DT, but it would be difficult not to start Sun considering everything she accomplished last year. If I were Ford I'd be worried about any playing time. SC will certainly have tremendous firepower. I would guess Lanier, Sun, Botkin, and either Schirmer or Krage. Wonder if he would move Krage to a MB? Well Hansen and Gross could be a decent combo there. Welsh held down the fort OK last year when Dunn was out. Maybe Hansen is ready by mid-season (full disclosure - borrowing this idea from another poster).

I haven't heard this, but its not a surprise. I also think its another sign that Sun is headed to SC. Young Miss Ford had 2 1/2 years to improve her game, and never did. Ford struggled with injuries and was also playing in an offense that went against her strengths. I suspect she'll have a successful senior year wherever she lands. I think her attitude when benched and lack of support for her team was a big indication of her mindset. Best to move on ...

I had never seen a collegiate athlete act like Ford did when she was benched. Disappointment is understandable, but she's part of a team. Well, I guess that didn't hold true for her. I do wish her well. Victoria shows all of us a side of athletes that we don't see until its too late. I'm glad she's a Trojan, and I'm happy to be a fan of hers. Go get em'girl!

To my very low level of knowledge she was having some academic struggles, so graduating in 3 years seems unlikely, but I certainly don't know for sure.

An athlete can get to a point where they feel completely undervalued and underappreciated by the coaches, and then it is extremely hard for a young athlete to maintain a rah-rah attitude. Sometimes a change in coaching staff is as good as a change in scenery. She is a fun and dynamic player to watch and I'd love to see her contribute for USC if she feels reinvigorated, and if she doesn't then I wish her well on her next stop. Under Mick's regime, a group of players who weren't considered starters or contributors were intentionally relegated to the sidelines during some practices. The players referred to it as The Island of Misfit Toys. For some of those players, any words of encouragement from the coaching staff will be a positive and encouraging step. For others, there isn't much that can be done and some have already decided to move on, whether that means simply giving up volleyball or going somewhere else. All of this will shake out by the end of the season, and then we'll start to see what this coaching staff can/will do.

Brent is more than a CROUCHing tiger at this moment. He is like a saber tooth, bigger and better. Super impressed with what he did thus far, let see if he can bring the same success during matches

I appreciate how open Garrick is about her struggles with her mental health. I’m glad she had the support of her coaches to take the time she needed to get back to herself, and I’m glad she’s back now.

I agree that she could be a fun player to watch, but come on, a starter for 2 1/2 years on a team the caliber of SC should improve noticeably. She hasn't. Bricio and Lanier could have been wonderful roll models, but she continued to try to slam kills through blocks. While she was occasionally successful with that strategy, some touch would have worked wonders frequently. Her decision to transfer shows two things: 1, she wants to play, and 2, she knows her court time for USC is very limited. I doubt Crouch told her that, but she was able to see others are accomplishing more, and hopefully she noticed they also are team people who inspire the team.

She mentioned to someone we know in common that she wanted to "kill it in the B1G" like another transfer from USC to one of those schools did. LOL
