Might as well get it started!

For the most part, the lineup seems set for next year. Holman likely slides into the MB position being vacated by Hall. The OH position being vacated by Fien is not quite so clear cut. Contenders on the current roster are Albrecht, Boender and Tiani Reeves. Possibly an incoming transfer at OH?

I think the Huskers will be good though! GO HUSKERS

I'm thinking:
OH: Foecke, K. Rolfzen MH: Holman, A. Rolfzen OPP: Stivrins S: Hunter L: Wong-Orantes
-I think Kadie Rolfzen is more effective on the left side and at this time don't see Boender making the jump to the elite level outside that is necessary in the B1G. - Back row subs will be similar to this year. Maloney would be starting libero for 99.5% of D1 teams. Huskers are fortunate to have her. - I could also see Cook using a redshirt for Stivrins due to the depth at MH.

My lineup right now is:
Hunter/Kadie Foecke/Boender Holman/Amber Wong-Orantes
Color me impressed with Boender from early in August/September. She was impressive in the Red-White Scrimmage, she hits one of the heaviest balls on the team, and also, she is the main reason we beat Oregon this season.

S: Kelly OPP: Tiani/Kenzie OH: Mikaela/Anni, Kadie MB: Bri, Amber L: Justine
A lot can happen from now until next year, and I hope one of them is the development and rise of Tiani!

It's hard for me to see that happening. I love Tiani, and I think she is an awesome teammate, but I saw her at the Red-White Scrimmage this year, and she looked a bit lost on the court. She will really have to eat, sleep, and breathe volleyball if she wants to make that starting lineup.

This could go a couple different ways
OPTION A: (Stivrins starting) OH: Foecke OH: Amber Rolfzen MB: Holman MB: Stivrins RS: Kadie Rolfzen S: Hunter L: JWO
OPTION B: (Albrecht/Boender starting) OH: Foecke OH: Albrecht/Boender MB: Holman MB: Amber Rolfzen RS: Kadie Rolfzen S: Hunter L: JWO
Red I believe are locks for their position. I think it comes down to whether incoming frosh MB Stivrins will be getting the starting nod, or some combo of Albrecht/Boender at OH. From there, I think Cook then slots in Amber & Kadie accordingly.
I'm torn on Option A as to which Rolfzen would move to OH, but it's hard to move someone from their 1st Team AA position. Of course, I realize that Option A has me moving a 2nd Team AA (Amber) away from HER position to accommodate a true freshman (Stivrins), but I justified the move in my head b/c (a) Cook will likely want to make a true freshman's transition to college as smooth as possible by keeping her where she's comfortable, and (b) Neb already had this situation occur this year w/ Foecke causing the Rolfzen switching... and that worked out pretty well!

I'm sorry, but there is no way Amber is playing anywhere but middle next season. She has found her niche and is fantastic (all-american) there.

My guess is they go transfer shopping for a pin hitter and use Kadie wherever she's needed then.

Plus, her connection with Hunter is light years better than September, I imagine with more wrinkles added this offseason, either Stirvins redshirts or finds a way to play one of the pins. My question is, is she good enough to take Anni/Olivia/Tiani/Kadie on and land a starting spot?

I was more trying to elicit response on her playing status for next year. I think she'll probably sit and be a force alongside Holman in 2017.

If that's true (and i have no reason to think it isn't) - if she proves to be one of the seven best players on the roster next fall, wouldn't Cook find a way to get her on the floor?
