Brian didn't reject her by the way....he just didn't have a scholarhip available for her! She went where the money was, first to UCLA and then eventually to the University of Spoiled Children! Oh well....... If Brian really wanted her, he would have found a way to keep her at LBSU. USC also did not have an athletic scholie available but here she is with the team. ;D

Stanford is capable of doing really really well. Their passing should at least be as good as SC's if they have Richards, Schultz and Hucke. The setting and the outside attack is there. I would anticipate Stanford finishing the season quite strong. They'll catch on sooner or later.

Shultz is OK, but not all that mobile; she should be playing MB. I'm happy that Cal lucked into landing Jillian Davis. I know Chrissie Zartman was recruited. I don't know about the other Pac-10 liberos (Candace Lee?). I know in the past I've said that I thought really good defensive players are common enough that they can be recruited walk-ons. However - with Stanford's problems (try getting someone to walk on at $40K/yr at Stanford), perhaps Dunning should take a good look at using up a scholarship on an elite libero.

I guess the Beach has no need for a strong back up for their star setter.

Well BryBry what I "think" is just fine, but since I am not the coach, the asst. coach, or anyone involved with the management of the team, what I "think" is purely my opinion. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, doesn't help much....I am not happy with our setting situation, but we got where we are due to a series of rather interesting developments and it is what it is....the fact is that Ms. Dillon had a chance to come to LBS both as a President's Scholar and as a walk on, a year later. She passed on the best scholarship situation that LBS has to offer, went to a school that EVERYONE told her to stay away from, including her club coaches, and then came back....the PResident's Scholarship is a one-time offer, and there were NO scholarships available at LBS by the time she came back....she was offered a roster spot as a walk on, which was all Brian could do....they opted to look elsewhere...ended up at U$C, where Dale is apparently paying for her tuition this year! Next year, she is SUPPOSED TO BE ON SCHOLARSHIP! I guess we'll have to see about that one, as they have already landed the best HS setter on the West Coast for next year....you know, it could get interesting as she could very well end up not setting, or perhaps just playing back row.....that's the way it goes sometimes!

Yeah, I totally wish Taylor was coming in next season, but she's a 2006. She enters when Dillon is a senior. SC's setter situation isn't ideal IMO. Not because there's too many of them, but there isn't one that is even close to being a top 10 setter collegiately. Dillon is probably our best setter and I would almost like to see a 5-1 w/ just her but she is just so darn short. Will Dillon and Freeburg get benched in their senior year when Taylor enters? Hard to say. Evidenced by what's happening at Florida and Stanford, it very well could be the case.

I was very impressed with SC's setting last night! I wish our setting as half as good, and I mean that!

Nope, I think Kehoe is the better setter. Brings more energy to the game and in time, she will be one of the best in the country. She needs to touch the ball on every touch, imho. I just haven't been impressed with Goldhahn's setting. I think Kehoe is the better setter also but she was not impressive most of the time last night. The passing made it difficult on her but she had several bad sets with great passes. Maybe the good pass surprised her!

Taylor Carico is coming in into USC in 2006. Next year, Haley has 3 scholies available with Adams, Burdine and Robinson graduating and so far, he has 2 recruits coming in. I am suspecting that he'll keep the third scholie for Dillon.
