Here's what I don't understand about protests, e.g., Hong Kong. For the Hong Kong protest, I've seen footages of throngs of people crowded into one area. So, where do they go if they need to pee or poo? Are they wearing diapers? What about hunger or thirst? Are they carrying food and water in their backpacks? Also, they must be incredibly exhausted from standing on their feet all day. I don't think I could be a rebel. Too many bodily function issues. Why do you think they were busting down the glass windows and doors. Had to use the bathroom really bad. Had nothing to do with the protest, though CGTN would say otherwise.

Many countries won't let you in if there is a chance your passport will expire while you are visiting. Typically they will reject you if there is less than six months of time remaining on it.

I keep thinking I'll do it when I know I'm going to take a trip. But this precludes the hasty retreat scenario. Something that seems more and more likely these days.
Which reminds me. I need to get some cash. $100,000 or so.

I keep thinking I'll do it when I know I'm going to take a trip. It takes a while, unless you pay extra. Fortunately for me, it is an allowed business expense, so I have had mine paid for.

Also, there seems to be a new option this year with a Passport card which functions as the passport itself but in a handy-dandy card format. Can also function as ID for North America travel because Trump made it so my California driver's license can't function as ID anymore at airports. Anyway, I don't remember the passport card being an option in the past but it's been over 10 years since I last applied for a passport.

Also, I realized that you can't joke with bank personnel about stuff in your safety deposit box. I went to one of my banks to get some documents out of my safety deposit box. As the bank guy led me to the vault area, I joked, "Got to check my Glock and make sure all my fake passports haven't expired. Ha ha ha..."
The bank guy didn't even crack a smile. He looked at me like he was contemplating turning me in to the feds.

Tip of the Day: A safety deposit box is a good location to keep all your secret Nazi documents.

Trump is to blame for most things, but I don't think this is one of them. Minnesota got a reprieve on theirs, but I ordered the enhanced license anyhow, rather than have to do it later. Not that I'm flying anywhere. Except in the hasty retreat scenario. I know the passport takes time, but I worry that I'll get one and then not use it for 9 (or more) years.

I have a habit of calling my "safe deposit box" a "safety deposit box."
