Coastal Carolina has had a couple of good seasons these past two years. Hardeman(sp) is good.
Coastal played a nice game against a solid Creighton team, but couldn't win the late points. Hope they find a good setter.
This makes the Sun Belt stronger and the Big South weaker. Coastal only dropped 3 sets in the regular conference season last year, I don't see that happening in the Sun Belt.

Who did you lose? I have a former player, red-shirt junior, currently playing D1- looking for possibly xfer opportunities.

Coastal Carolina University (D1-Sun Belt) is looking for a transfer setter Fall 2016. Scholarships available starting Fall 2016, please contact Assistant Coach Benavia Jenkins for more information (bjenkin1@coastal.edu). go after Remi Bowman who left ISU. She was a top 50 senior ace in the class of 15. As of now, she has no where to play next year. Rumor is that she might have to go JuCo. She's a really special player that could really contribute to good team.

Another setter, Janelle (sp?) Hudson, left there recently as well for Long Beach State I believe. Christi is highly regarding as one of the top setters coaches in the country so it's odd to me to see setters transfer.

my guess is that once they got to ISU they were not what Christy was looking for, or she got a better one the next year and they lost their starting job.

my guess is that once they got to ISU they were not what Christy was looking for, or she got a better one the next year and they lost their starting job. Or because the ridiculous necessity to recruit kids almost out of the womb is causing programs to take risks that don't pay off? Or kids make commitments they weren't fully aware they were making? All of it is part of it. Recruiting in this game is a hot mess. It's approaching the epic crapshoot that football is. It's the kids and the coaches doing it. Everyone has their contribution. Can you imagine if the NCAA said to both sides: once you commit, that's it. Coaches, you commit a kid, that scholarship is not available until that kid graduates, or the estimated end date of her 4 years of eligibility is exhausted. Kids, you commit to a school, you will play for that school all 4 years and no place else regardless of your enrollment. No transfer. If you quit playing, you forfeit your scholarship. I guarantee you, you wouldn't see kids in grade 9 or 10 being verbally committed. Not only would a coach not be dumb enough to offer, no kid would be dumb enough to accept. It would force both sides to be far more diligent and introspective in their decision. When common sense is abandoned, something needs to instill reason and rationality to the process. IDK if this is the right way to do it, but someone has to step in and stop the insane direction it has gone and is going. I am looking at sophomores and freshman right now just to keep up. Insane.
