She'll be ready. They need her to get a medal. I hope so, but not starting on her club team is very alarming, for a player that is on a medal worthy team. You can imagine how Ze Robert must feel with Sheila solidly on the bench for that same VakifBank team. She is expected to carry a much bigger load for Brazil then Kim would for the USA.

I watched the match and Hill played well. Looks like there's someone else in this thread pulling for another outside hitter on national team. We need the best players on the court this summer and sometimes they may not be your favorite. What match did you watch? She shanked everything. Klineman looks better than her right now! You shouldn't compare Klineman with Hill. Klineman is absolutely horrid in serve receive. Also the two played on the same club team (last season I think) and it was pretty clear who was the better passer. I really wish Klineman could pass because that would be an awesome weapon to have a 6'5 player that can block, hit and pass. Hill had a really miserable set two in the Volero match but she redeemed herself in set four. Passed solidly and had some decent kills. I do agree that Hill would need to pick up her game for her to help Team USA medal in Rio. Honestly, I think it's too much to expect Hill to lead our National Team. She had a great 2014 World Championships but that was a bit of a one-off tournament for her. She should be expected to be a solid contributor (maybe 3rd or 4th in points per game behind our OPP, OH1, and MB1). IMO, the one who needs to really step up is Megan Easy. She finally seems to be moving in a better direction but at this point it's so late in the quad.

Yes. Hill and Klineman played on the same club team last year. Yes, they tried to hide Klineman as much as possible on serve receive, but she was a better attacker and blocker than Hill that season.

Hill isn't playing at the level she was. That is all. Easy, may surprise us all and start opposite Larson. I just watched her play against China in London. She was incredible.

Kim Hill and Meghan (Hodge) Easy have each gotten more mileage out of a single international match than anyone else in history.

And now all the way to the MVP Award and a gold medal in the Turkish Cup. What an unbelievable finish to her club season at Vakifbank. Now on to Rio 16 and gold. Go USA, Go Kim..

Hmmm...I don't want to name a specific player just yet, but based on my past observation, those players who performed well for their club teams sometimes don't perform so brilliantly for their national teams. One should be careful to jump to conclusions that just because a certain player did great for their club team, that means they must do well on their national team.
