So can anyone here vouch for who the great coaches are? I'm talking about coaches that are positive, inspire their players and build them up into great players and even better people? I played for Debby Colberg and Ruben Volta at Sac State. We weren't the top team in the country but we did win 3 conference titles while I was there. They were hard on me and pushed me, and most importantly they called me out on my crap (mostly in my Freshman year). I can say 100% that they made me into a better person. Debby is retired buy I would encourage any player to play for Ruben, your kid will be in great hands.

I'm glad I come on this site. I know one school now my daughter will not be considering as long as a certain coach is there. Are their more coaches like this that I as a parent should know about? There is another ACC team that has a female assistant, who really runs the team, who can be pretty mean unfortunately.

If you really want to do what bigfan recommended and list the schools your daughter is interested in you should only request feedback through PM so it does not become a witch hunt or heated debate in public.
Also, you should use the search on VT for posts/threads for the coaches and schools to what has been said in the past couple years.

This isn't already a witch hunt?

I'm glad Ken is finally receiving the attention he deserves. My daughter was one of the abused players featured in the article from UNT. It's pretty bad when an opposing coach pulls you aside after a match and tells you to get your daughter off his team. The Wake Forest story told only a small amount of his many infractions. After 2 years of living through hell, and I do mean hell, my daughter got to play her last year for a wonderful coach, Andrew Palileo. I thank God that she out lasted "The Monster," and got her love of the game back. I hope WF does something before it's too late. If you have direct first hand knowledge of this coaches behaviour, then can I suggest you offer your experience in writing to the AD at Wake Forest, and also send a copy to the Schools President and the Conference President.
Unless people come forward with the truth, guys like this just get away with it. It sounds like your daughter has finished her NCAA career, so it should not be able to come back on her.
Or perhaps your daughter would get some sense of fairness by offering her experience.
Bad coaches at all levels, are essentially predators. they use athlete's for their own purpose.

Whats wrong with posting schools a player maybe interested and asking for feed back? For instance if these schools were posted. Nebraska...............coach likes to fight coach's from different schools. LBSU.....................coach wears a stylish wig and screams a lot. Julie Hermann................never send to any school she is at.

For an individual parent it would be best to get feedback via PM rather than have a coach get potentially bashed by a former disgruntled player or parent out in the forum and then it just gets out of hand.
You can count on somebody saying something negative about even the best coaches.

As you know BS gets rooted out here pretty quickly. If A disgruntled poster started ripping a coach here it would be exposed for what it is.

This coach will be gone before next season. Wake Forest is a fine school with a good athletic tradition, a new coach should be easy to find
