Murphy with a nice solo stuff on Larson there , it's a high level of play from everyone tonight though. We have very different definitions of "high level." This was very mediocre.

I thought it was pretty sloppy play all around. Quality stream though, appreciate that

Could you explain further what you mean by "consistently doesn't"? I only started watching international volleyball this quad but after looking into her record it kinda baffles me how overwhelmingly negative the conversation around Easy is. Was she supposed to be the greatest player ever coming out of college? She certainly hasn't been that, but her resume is pretty solid for the average NT player. In her five full international club seasons she's got: Italian League (2): 1 regular season championship, 2 playoff championships (* on the most recent one due to her injury) Polish League: 2nd in regular season, playoff championship Azerbaijani League: 2nd in regular season, no playoffs Chinese League: 4th in regular season, semifinals in playoffs (This was the year with her midseason two month knee injury) She's won Gold with the US NT in the Grand Prix all four times she's participated (along with missing the 2014 WC, she missed the awful 6th place Grand Prix finishes in 2013 and 2014). She hit 0.3 and passed very well in the Olympics during limited playing time and, though she didn't play great in the final vs Brazil, she did just as well as Larson who was the starter. I think the break she took mid-quad has certainly harmed her but it's part been injuries and part pregnancy so I don't think that should be blamed on her motivation or desire. With the emergence of Hill and Robinson there hasn't been much of a need for her since her return but it seems most of the criticism around her is based on her performance years ago. Though she hasn't shown anything recently that suggests she should replace one of the starting OHs (which I don't think she should in our system), her play definitely doesn't warrant the treatment of dismissing her from the team that some here seem to want. I feel like it is more of the moment when people were degrading her. It's her ability to pass at the next level. Karch and Beth spoke highly of her in her college days but she didn't transition well into the international scene. However, she was granted with such awards throughout her career. She was very mediocre back in the day but she is coming around now... But I still wouldn't take her.. lol.. I've always been of the mind that Easy's time at Penn State actually hampered her offensive development. She is an AMAZING athlete. At PSU, her successful was more on her ability to connect with very fast sets from glass. For someone of her athletic ability, I still see what I would call a lazy attack approach. I really think Easy could have been more of a destiny type attacker. Someone who could really do damage to high balls, but that isn't how she was trained. We've seen her absolute moments of brilliance (The grand prix finals a few years back) where she is an absolute dominate attacker. When you see what she is capable of, you just wish she could produce that more consistently.

Did anyone notice that Larson has been defending from 6 while Banwarth has been defending from 5?

Looks like Lloyd's sets are a little low and her hitters aren't able to hit the ball down so they're hitting it flat and out
