Great match by USA !!!! -- Our mental toughness and stamina right now is incredible. Looked as though Serbia was getting tired, starting in middle of 3rd set. I hope this happens to Brazil

2. Anyone notice they played Madonna's "Time goes by... so slowly..." when waiting for the challenge to come up? Lulz. It seems like it is taking much longer than at other tournaments. Lol I did. Thought it was funny. But not as funny as during the Men's matches. Right after a challenge is reviewed and ruled on, they would play "You can't always get what you want" by The Stones while the camera shot is on the coach that lost the challenge. HA HA... this is funny.

Congrats to US for the win. I was especially pleased with Adams and Hill's performance. That block by Hill in the first set was great. The second set was rather shaky with some reception problems. But the US recovered well in the next 2 sets. I think I can make a safe prediction that the US will prevail against China and Italy. The Chinese are way too inconsistent to be a serious threat. They can't handle pressure. The Italians are done and low in spirit after losing 3 straight matches. They are not a serious threat. So that means the US will be number 1 in Pool B. Who will they face in the knock-out stage? Does italy have their stud OH from last years U20 WC? She was an incredible athlete, curious to see her at this level. I think you're referring to Paola Egonu. She has been playing OPP during the Olympics and leading the team in spikes. She's been good but also error prone as well.

So maybe I missed it in the 25 pages of this thread. Can someone point me to Ruffda's apology to Rachel Adams for claiming that her serving prowess was a step down from Dixon?

Let's be honest... Dixon and Adams would be on this team sending Dietzen home. Dixon would probably start still if it weren't for the injury.

I think the whole Adams vs. Dixon discussion is similar to people's speculation of Murphy's role in the Olympics. A year ago, very few people would have predicted that Murphy would start at the OPP position. Many even doubted she would have made the roster. Why does it matter if Dixon would have started over Adams? She's not at the Olympics. Adams is. All we can definitively comment on is their current performance. Adams dominated at her position in the game against Serbia. She lead in hitting percentage, points, aces, and kills. Not that she needs to prove to anyone, but I think her performance in these games, in the WGP speak for themselves.

In the stats, with the offense, they have Spikes, Faults, Shots and Attempts. What does shots represent? Anything that is not a Spike or Fault. Think "kept in play". You'll see when Spikes (Kills), Faults (Hit Errs) and Shots (kept in play) are added up they equal Attempts. Thanks for the information!
