That was awesome and I say go more primal. Loved to see people playing aggressive volleyball.

This is the teams first win in almost a month after they lost last month to Italy and Brazil to get bounced from WL. Hopefully with this one they can get the ball rolling play more freely and know that they can win. So good that they won a deuce set those have not been going our way.

So what are the scenarios now? Assuming if we beat France and Mexico we are thru? Can we finish higher than 4th possibly?

Does a loss to France mean we are done? I guess if I wasn't so tired right now I could look up everything and try do the math. Hoping someone already has...

A 5 set loss would not eliminate us and would force Canada to at least go to 5 against Italy in the last match. If Canada loses in 3 or 4 against Italy we would be through.

US (and the other 4 teams excluding Mexico) can finish any where from 1st to 5th, even with 2 USA wins. Could actually end up being a 5-way tie for first. (other thread created).

amazing win by the US but it was only a 2 person offense? Optimal is 3....all you need. But they way we passed and served it just makes it a totally different game and 2 guys going off like they did is enough. The team hit .360 I think, against the home undefeated team.

Too bad NBC didn't air the entire, fantastic match on the main NBC channel. If that riveting, physical, swashbuckling play wouldn't help grow the game in USA, nothing will. It was like watching an epic SEC football game. Great job guys. Hoping for a rematch for the gold.

I hope this win on the Men's side inspires our women: Brazil can be beaten in Brazil

There was a video posted on twitter today of the Men's team standing outside the Woman's housing area and blasting music while giving high fives as they left for the match. Last nights match was so epic people at work who have never watched volleyball a day in their life were even talking about how amazing it was around the coffee pot this morning. I hope this energizes the men to keep it rolling but light up the women even more and get even more dominant as the elimination rounds come.
