Collectively, how many back-to-back matches did Wisconsin have over the past two seasons compared to every team in the B1G? Now tell me the next program that had the fewest over the past two seasons. While you're looking it up, how many back-to-backs did the next team with the fewest have over those two years? Even though the Badgers didn't choose their conference schedule, they still had a considerably easier schedule compared to the other teams in the B1G. You really believe that the eventual champs Nebraska would have lost to Wisconsin again last season? See my prior post when I explained that the team put forth no effort in that match. I remember when the Badgers won the conference title in 2014, and the PSU fans said that if they had to play Nebraska and PSU again in the season, they would have lost those matches and the conference title. The Wisconsin fans swore up and down that they would have won those matches until poetic justice was finally served when Hancock’s Nittany Lions trounced the Badgers in the championship match. We will just have to disagree about who would have won between Wisconsin and Nebraska 9 out of 10 times last season, and that's fine by me. 1. Definitely not "considerably easier" than Nebraska who got to play Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, and Iowa seven times. You still fail to acknowledge that Nebraska only had to play Minnesota once last season... in Nebraska. Since we're offering baseless speculation, it's probably a good thing Nebraska didn't run into them again in the tourney, eh? 2. I have no idea if Nebraska would have lost to Wisconsin again last season... and neither do you, regardless of your feeling that the team "put forth no effort in that match," which has no basis in fact. 3. What PSU fans said in 2014 has exactly nothing to do with this conversation. 4. Penn State beat Wisconsin for the national championship in 2013, not 2014 when Wisconsin won the B1G. I'll send ya a PM about #2.

Guys, SMOOVE is just graciously providing locker room motivation for Haleigh Nelson and Lauren Carlini. There isn't another reasonable explanation for these rants!
Should be an interesting season...

And for the record, there are very few middles in the world who are able to make plays consistently with less-than-perfect sets. They are completely reliant players, often already in the air before/when the setter already has the ball. This is not logical criticism of the quick attacker in volleyball. If anything, the middles for Wisconsin should have proven one thing to you: they're the only reliable and consistent option that Wisconsin has right now and have the ability to be incredibly efficient from an attacking and blocking standpoint when their team has been decimated by injuries and forced into lineup changes, even when forced off less-than-ideal passes and digs. The Wisconsin middles are one of the best duos in that position in the country.ROFL! We will definitely disagree on this one! You think Nelson is one of the nation’s premier blockers! Jay LenoLOL The thought of Nelson as a top blocker! On a national scale! LOLOLOL In a nation where we have so many prolific middles! LOL You think NELSON is one of those?! LOLOLOL Look, I know you, unlike most of their fans, actually know some of the Badgers, but c’mon, man, Nelson? LOLol The Nelson that had 8 blocks against Nebraska in 2015, 3 in 2014 and hit .455, and 13 in 2013? Yup, sure do. The Nelson that led the B1G in hitting percentage last season? Yup, sure do. It's almost like you're forgetting that she's a Second-Team All-American.

Oh, what do ya know? I come into this thread thinking people are giving input to the game and we're talking about NEBRASKA. Sorry for interrupting!

I am looking forward to watching how the badgers cope this weekend. It's a good test of the players resolve and resilience. Last weekend, the injuries seemed to have the team on their heels. With a bit more practice, I'm interested to see how they will perform. I think we will see a much smoother performance all around.
Texas and A&M may be surprised by some things the badgers throw at them this weekend, so that may be an advantage. I agree the loss of Gillis is a real problem for Wisconsin against Texas... she's a real stabilizing force right now. Hard to pick the badgers there. But stranger things have happened ... involving these very two teams!

THEY PLAYED NE AT NE ONCE AND WON! Are you daft or intentionally stupid? Clearly, you thought Wisconsin would have won every match against Nebraska last season, and this is where we disagree. The Nebraska team that Wisconsin defeated was not the same Nebraska team that swept PSU or raged through the tournament. If the capstone of your team's accomplishments in 2015 was defeating Nebraska, then by all means, hold that dearly to your heart, because the remnants of that might be the only thing bringing you comfort as a fan in a year from now. Nope. Just needed to win the match in front of them...toward the end of the season...AT NE. That's all I needed to see. If you watched the match, the games weren't that close, either, but I'm sure that's because NE took a night off against a conference foe that was on a roll.

Nelson's hitting % was second total season and tops during conference play. In the toughest conference during conference play, Nelson led in hitting percentage.

Well, I'd suggested "ineffectively" since they lost. You are fun. Stick around. I need someone to sucker punch who just leaves their chin wide-open within reach.

Such testicular fortitude on your part, flexing those online muscles! LOL I'll hit you up on Sunday after the Badgers lose to Texas to see how many more holes are in your wall. I see it now: Local Austin man wielding rusty chainsaw takes people hostage in a Culver's, demanding a year's supply of Wisconsin Cheese Curds, a public apology from a Nebraska man and recognition that this Nelson chick is THE BEST OMFG BLOCKER IN THIS COUNTRY!

You cannot expect a team to mix up a line-up that much against a team as good as TX and take that match at Gregory Gym. On a related note, please moderator, add back in the "Block" function.

Minny did beat up on them pretty good the night before. I had a very nice road trip and was there for both NE did look tired, but that is from playing TWO very tough teams in a row and getting beat by both. If WI was not a worthy opponent, NE would have spanked them after losing the night before. NE getting worn down is quite a bit to WI's credit.

On topic, I like Wisconsin in this match even with a hobbled Wisconsin team. I'm still not sold on this years Texas team and believe that the loss of McCage to graduation and Ogbogu to academics has really limited what they can do offensively. So far, they have one really good win over Oregon(IMO anyway) and not much else. They swept A&M yesterday, but A&M hasn't done anything that's worth writing home about yet either.
I'm taking the Badgers in 4.
