On topic, I like Wisconsin in this match even with a hobbled Wisconsin team. I'm still not sold on this years Texas team and believe that the loss of McCage to graduation and Ogbogu to academics has really limited what they can do offensively. So far, they have one really good win over Oregon(IMO anyway) and not much else. They swept A&M yesterday, but A&M hasn't done anything that's worth writing home about yet either. I'm taking the Badgers in 4. I took the Cheezweezels in 5, but if they are thinking like their fans, they will lose in 3.

Wisconsin will beat Texas even though Texas has more talent and Texas has a brilliant head coach.

Collectively, how many back-to-back matches did Wisconsin have over the past two seasons compared to every team in the B1G? Now tell me the next program that had the fewest over the past two seasons. While you're looking it up, how many back-to-backs did the next team with the fewest have over those two years? Even though the Badgers didn't choose their conference schedule, they still had a considerably easier schedule compared to the other teams in the B1G. You really believe that the eventual champs Nebraska would have lost to Wisconsin again last season? See my prior post when I explained that the team put forth no effort in that match. I remember when the Badgers won the conference title in 2014, and the PSU fans said that if they had to play Nebraska and PSU again in the season, they would have lost those matches and the conference title. The Wisconsin fans swore up and down that they would have won those matches until poetic justice was finally served when Hancock’s Nittany Lions trounced the Badgers in the championship match. We will just have to disagree about who would have won between Wisconsin and Nebraska 9 out of 10 times last season, and that's fine by me. 1. Definitely not "considerably easier" than Nebraska who got to play Indiana, Maryland, Rutgers, and Iowa seven times. You still fail to acknowledge that Nebraska only had to play Minnesota once last season... in Nebraska. Since we're offering baseless speculation, it's probably a good thing Nebraska didn't run into them again in the tourney, eh? 2. I have no idea if Nebraska would have lost to Wisconsin again last season... and neither do you, regardless of your feeling that the team "put forth no effort in that match," which has no basis in fact. 3. What PSU fans said in 2014 has exactly nothing to do with this conversation. 4. Penn State beat Wisconsin for the national championship in 2013, not 2014 when Wisconsin won the B1G. Psu did however beat badgers again in 2014, it was just quarter finals. Carlini hasn't beaten penn state yet. She gets her last chance this year.

So, which are Nebraska's best wins? Florida? Okay. And, Florida's best win? FSU. And, FSU's best win? A&M. It might "irk" you, just like it does that Texas is #2 in the latest AVCA poll, but on paper, that is Nebraska's best win, and as long as Texas keeps winning, that will strenghten Nebraska's RPI and SOS.

I'm taking the Badgers in 4.December 19, 2015 Nebraska beats Texas 3-0. August 27, 2016 Nebraska beats Texas 3-0. A sad but tragic theme is developing. Soon Nebraska will beat Texas 3-0 again to end their season.

Wow, you really took that irk comment personally didn't you. It honestly had nothing to do with Texas specifically, and everything to do with poll inertia in general. Texas just happens to be an obvious benefactor that I could use as an example. I would also argue that on paper, Oregon is the best win for both Texas and Florida, but that's another argument entirely. On the poll inertia front, look at it this way. Oregon is ranked #24 with 4 set losses to #2 Texas and #7 Florida, and wins over #28 Illinois and a bunch of mediocre teams. They've currently dropped 1 set to a non Top 10 team. Southern California is ranked #21 with a 4 set loss to #17 Santa Clara, a 4 set loss to #38 Marquette, and a 3 set loss to unranked 3-8 UC Irvine. They have wins over #33 Creighton and a bunch of mediocre teams. Oregon has one less loss and their losses are much more forgivable than USC's, but they're 3 spots behind the Trojans. Their wins are basically a wash, and the only two reasons why USC is ahead of Oregon are because the name on the jersey says USC and poll inertia. That stuff irks me. Absolutely it does. Guilty as charged. I might have come off as the typical Texas hating Nebraska fan, but I'm not.

Who's playing in this match again? Oregon vs. Florida? Florida vs. Nebraska? Nebraska vs. Texas? Nebraska vs. Wisconsin? Florida vs. Texas? Oregon vs. Florida State? USC vs. Nebraska?
In about a day, I'm going to start a new Texas/UW thread if this doesn't get back on topic.

I think Wisconsin will win this match. They serve tough and Texas doesn't pass well. Combine that with Wisconsin being a strong blocking and scrappy defensive team. Texas has three strong pin hitters but I don't know if it will be enough against the strong Wisconsin block....ala Nebraska match.
