If you feel so strongly about directing people to an URL that you start a thread with that linked URL, please at least have the courtesy to tell people what the link is about. You can quote something from the link or add your own summary or comments about it. But do not just post links.
Thank you.
I will be deleting blind links from now on. This will even include the blind links being posted by the clown over in the Politics forum.

So you can jump on that but not the blatantly political thread on the volleyball side of the board that's been up for days?

Yep. I'm in charge of spam. Odin can deal with the political crap.

I wondered "what the heck is a blind link?" One that gets a 404 error? No, that's a "dead" link. But now that I see what you mean, I want to say that I heartily support your decision! Not only does a blind link LOOK like spam, but often it turns out to be just that. At least a LITTLE something of what it's about is a reasonable request. Having said that, I realize there might be cases where you want to pleasantly surprise them when they get there, and revealing too much in advance would ruin it. I'm sure there's a way to partially inform without spoiling it. (And how often is it the case one wants to spring a legitimate surprise? Not often, I'm sure.)

This thread was directed primarily to one person who frequents the political forum, as referenced by the mod. He would post a vague title and then provide a link with no context. It was like every day was a holiday for him.

Don't have rules if you're not going to enforce them!!
