Bluepenquin with fun fact of the day!
You are the RPI/Pablo guru so I can't argue the facts, but I would think having home court advantage and Kansas and Texas splitting games this year with the home team winning each that it would favor Texas to win this region easier over let's say a Wisconsin over Stanford.

You are the RPI/Pablo guru so I can't argue the facts, but I would think having home court advantage and Kansas and Texas splitting games this year with the home team winning each that it would favor Texas to win this region easier over let's say a Wisconsin over Stanford. Texas would be slightly more of a favorite over Kansas than Wisconsin would be over Stanford (Pablo has both Wisconsin and Stanford better) - but Texas having to play BYU is considerably more challenging than whoever Wisconsin would have to play in the 3rd round. Also the drop off from Stanford to Florida is more than the drop off of Kansas to Michigan - or the drop off from Kansas to Creighton, which isn't any drop off.
I think people may be underestimating how much more difficult the 3rd round could be for Texas than either Wisconsin or Minnesota. The toughest team Wisconsin could play in their 1st three matches is Washington State who is considered better than anyone in the Kansas State Sub-regional. And then everyone knows that Minnesota has a very challenging 2nd round match - but not necessarily as tough in the 3rd round.

Ugh!!!!! I didn't watch the SMU-A&M match, but followed the play-by-play online. I knew SMU would play tough, but thought A&M would win. Definitely didn't think they'd be swept!

congrats to SMU. Saw a couple of thier matches this year and when bracket came out i got worried. Hitting from pins for Texas A&M has been hit or miss all season and today the ball control by SMU couldnt be overcome with middle play. SMU will be a solid test for Texas.
I bet Reasor and McGee hit negative and SMU stayed in system in serve receive an unbelieveable amount of time...

McGee was pulled early in favor of the senior, Hardesty. Not sure if she ever came back in the match.

Reasor and McGee hit +1 over 43 swings between the two of them and Hardesty added 9 other swings at a neutral level for a production stat of 9 kills 8 errors out of 52 swings...Unacceptable if you want to win against a solid NCAA tourney team from 2 of the 3 pins positions.
SMU hit well in system. They outplayed us in all facets of the match, only thing that might be positive that comes about from this is replay may be used next year in all tourney matches not just the ones after the first two rounds. HOWEVER that DID NOT cause the Aggie loss, poor passing/ poor pin production vs solid passing/in system swings off serve receive did
