Given that Washington is the host school, I would guess it'll be on the Pac-12 Network (which Spectrum does carry, although an additional ($10) charge may apply), but not Spectrum Sports (channel (10)12). (In the past, there's been a "must carry" rule. i.e. which ever network got the TV rights had to broadcast all the matches at that site/on that weekend, not just the ones that the "home team" played in.) I thought I saw near the end of the selection show that ESPN3 was streaming all of the first/second round matches. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part. ESPN3 would also make sense. Either way, I think the chance it'll be on Spectrum Sports is slim.

I think Illinois is a very tricky match up for Hawaii. The Big West didn't prepare them for a team like Illinois. This is a very tall team. I believe all of their starers are 6'2 or taller and what the front row doesn't pick up will funnel to their AA HM libero. I think Hawaii will have issues with a big blocking team, who I assume will stack up against Granato and Maglio. Likely they will both have two blockers on them at all times and they will be looking at a very tall block all night long. Additionally, Illinois is really well balanced, so I think Hawaii may have some trouble with their blocking if Illinois is pushing the ball out pin to pin. They were able to key on big hitters in the Big West, so not sure how they will take to a balanced offense.
Not seeing much of Illinois this year, it's hard to really tell what to do. I think Hawaii needs to serve tough to take the middles out of the equation. I also wonder how Illinois will take to Hawaii's defense. Hawaii has been able to get into long rallies with big hitters and keep the ball in play, even against the likes of Ruddins and the VW sisters. Not sure if Illinois has seen/is used to that kind of scrappy defense and if their pins will get impatient.
As a very odd side note, I recall when Hawaii played Illinois in 2009. Hambly was doing a radio interview on the Sweet 16 and talked about playing Hawaii. The radio guys knew very little about Hawaii and the tone of the interview started to go down the path that Hawaii was a "mid major" and how does Illinois prepare for a match like that. Hambly was very complimentary and basically said that while Hawaii plays in a mid major conference, in the world of volleyball, they were "big time." He talked about the attendance records and basically said that this would be a very tough match up. I appreciated his response to the question. I really wish I could find the web link to that interview.

Illini will be tough to beat. Having steady Greeley in the back would help. So who’s gonna step up take her spot? Which is gonna show up in Seattle? Jekyll or Hide? Seems like they did well down the road with the 6 2 they were running.

IIRC Anderson doesn't play much when they run the 6/2, and I don't think they would lose that much having her play in Greeley's place. I think the more critical question is going to be whether or not Illinois can shutdown Maglio like Davis did without leaving the pins open like Davis did.

Various websites and volleytalk have said she was Not sure why it matters anymore, but yes, I believe Hawaii was in her Top 3 or 5, and I remember seeing on this board articles stating that, but it was so long ago. I believe a Star Advertiser article done when she played a game against Hawaii during the regular saeson also mentioned it. At least - think so. I vaguely remember Shoji saying they've never beat Stanford out on a recruit. Hawaii seems to go after a lot of the same recruits Stanford does - they just pick Stanford. Who wouldn't?

I think Ross is replacing Greeley this weekend. I think she plays better scrappy defense than Anderson. Plus she’s another offensive option although she isn’t great from the back row. In broken plays she will get the set if the pins aren’t available so I’m hoping she’s taking extra reps from the back

What happened to her? Why she's not that effective like in the past?

Did you know that Logan Tom was oh so close to coming to Hawaii.
