They will not run a 6-2, Atherton is not the right fit for Nebraska. K. Hunter will finish her senior year in a 5-1. I don't see Atherton playing until K Hunter graduates if at all. They need an OH transfer once again as losing Haggerty has put a huge wrench in their OH core. Boender is not the answer unfortunately or she would have played more this year when Malloy struggled. Although Stanford was amazing with all those freshman, I see a bigger learning curve for all those freshman at Nebraska next year. I wouldn't say that Atherton isn't a good fit for Nebraska; She is a true Freshman after-all! Don't forget that she came in graduating High school early! Let's give her a chance! You know people; these girls wouldn't be here if they didn't possess talent! And Yes; I do believe she is the heir apparent! GO HUSKERS .nicklin hames is pretty dang good coming in 2018. We shall see.

Has anyone heard anything about Alex Ratzlaff? Sounds like she is done. Not sure about her status, but she retweets a lot of Husker things. Here is what she tweeted yesterday: "I've played with and against natty winners. I'm just ready for it to be my turn."

Atherton would've been a better fit with hometown Ohio State. Could've set a 6-2 with Hughes which would allow Hughes to hit out of the RS for 3 rotations.

At the preseason meet & greet I sat at the same table as what Atherton did. Someone asked her if Ohio State had been trying to recruit her. They had but she really didn't like Ohio State that much.

Mcclellen or strvins RS. Nebraska will run 3 middle system. Sweet might not be ready. This is my guess from the peanut gallery. Usually the 3 MB offense is only implemented when a team lacks a strong RS, and/or if they want to utilize 3 really talented middles. It could be an option for us next year, IMO. I hope we keep our options open, whether that means a 3 MB system or giving our freshman starting experience. I don't think it's necessary to get the lineup right on the first try. Just look at Stanford. I think we have some room for trial and error next year. Just for fun though, if it were to happen, I think I'd have Holman as the main RS for 2 rotations, and then probably McClellan as the RS in 1 rotation, and Stivrins MB full time...? Haha, I don't know, but like holiday said earlier, Holman can rip it on the RS.

Hunter Atherton is just finishing her first year. This is, I believe, her fifth year as a setter in training. I doubt John Cook thinks she is not a good fit at this stage. She is very athletic for sure. Nebraska has developed good athletes into good position players in its history. No reason to think otherwise right now. Didn't Minnesota have a 3 Middle type of offense in 2016? Didn't Hannah Tapp become more or less a RS hitter this year. Her sister, Paige, and Lehman manned the middles. They adapted to their personnel.
Look at Stanford and Texas this year. Stanford used Lutz in a different way this year I believe. Of course the Fab Four and Inky were tremendous. Hentz and Plummer especially were difference makers. It's hard to believe four freshmen could be so good and poised in their first year. But they were. Texas lost Ogbogo before the year started to academics I believe. The middles were non-existent early in the year. They adapted and persevered. YBG became a jack of all trades player. She sacrificed for the betterment of the team. Their backcourt became more solid and consistent. If Texas keeps its projected roster in 2017(with the return of Ogbogu), has any team ever had so much physical talent in the history of women's volleyball? I'm talking vertical jump, athleticism and explosive movements. I count eight top ten girls in various years of graduation. Of course it's the same number as 2014 and 2015 I believe. But Sun and Butler are from a different universe of physicality I believe. Texas and Stanford were easily two of the top four or five talented teams in 2016. I put Nebraska and Minnesota as the other two. The fifth spot is too close to call. My opinion on recruits is based on what I read here. Especially people who I respect their opinion. Parity amongst top teams in 2016 was apparent at the end. Four to six teams could have won it all on a given day.

It sounds like Orie Agbaji the 6-2 MB from Kansas City currently a true freshman at Texas may transfer. She was I believe the number eight recruit in the class of 2016 by Prep Volleyball. I think she picked Texas over Nebraska back a few years ago in high school. If she transfers is Nebraska a viable destination? The transfer rumors are just beginning in earnest.

Correction here. Orie Agbaji was the number four recruit in the class of 2016. Sorry for the misinformation.

Last night, Cook said that the goal is to make Foecke a 6 rotation player now. Do you guys see it happening next season? From what Cook said in his press conference, I think it's very likely we'll see Foecke as a 6-rotation OH next year.
