Does nebraska need another middle? Im fairly VERY certain Orie will not be transferring..... but things do shock me lately... I'm skeptical. She doesn't seem like the person to bail on Texas so soon. And her social media suggests that she's willing to stay at Texas.

Usually the 3 MB offense is only implemented when a team lacks a strong RS, and/or if they want to utilize 3 really talented middles. It could be an option for us next year, IMO. I hope we keep our options open, whether that means a 3 MB system or giving our freshman starting experience. I don't think it's necessary to get the lineup right on the first try. Just look at Stanford. I think we have some room for trial and error next year. Just for fun though, if it were to happen, I think I'd have Holman as the main RS for 2 rotations, and then probably McClellan as the RS in 1 rotation, and Stivrins MB full time...? Haha, I don't know, but like holiday said earlier, Holman can rip it on the RS. I think this may happen if foecke can go 6 rotations.... or if a 6 rotation OH comes in. Any word on a transfer OH? The 3 MB system could be a good lineup for the Huskers with the talent we have, but if we had a strong OPP who's ready to go, then I'd be surprised if we went away from the system we've been using.

I think we will have a couple strong opposites in 2018 after they get a few years of training. They arent ready for battle just yet in my opinion. But cook wants sweet ready to go. I just think a 3 MB system could be an option. Stivrins and mcclellan should both be ready. Unless mcclellan moves opposite of foecke on the left?..options... options..... options;)

I thought in high school Orie was doing what Mikaela did in high school. OH or OPP. But at Texas with a White, Prieto, YBG and Nwanebu the cupboard is full. Orie was needed at MB with Ogbogu taking a sabbatical in 2016. Just some thoughts. Orie has been posting interesting rumblings on social media according to some fanatical Texas volleyball fans. It is about missing her current roommate and her last match as a Longhorn. Maybe Missouri or Kansas is a easier path to playing.

It would be smart of orie to transfer..... but i thought she was very happy from my understanding... with butler and sun coming in she will certainly not see the court much..

I checked out her social media and couldn't find anything pointing to her wanting to transfer. She seems very happy at Texas, from what I can tell.

Last night, Cook said that the goal is to make Foecke a 6 rotation player now. Do you guys see it happening next season? From what Cook said in his press conference, I think it's very likely we'll see Foecke as a 6-rotation OH next year. She played great defense.

Is there any information on McClellan possibly moving left, or is that just brainstorming? PrepVB only lists her as a MB, so I would suspect moving her to OH would be unlikely because she's too valuable at blocking.

According to the LJS article about her commitment to Nebraska McClellan told Cook that she wants to stay in the middle & become the best middle in college volleyball.

McClellan is built for the middle, not the left.
And I've heard varying things about the progress of Atherton. She's a great athlete, but hard to know yet if she's a great setter. Nebraska really could use an assistant coach that excels at developing setters.

...just finally sat to watch the whole match. Jazz sweet has LOTSSSSSSS of work to put in before she makes waves at nebraska. She def cant jump.... or just doesnt think she needs to yet.... Cook will have fun working with her because there is some upside their.
McClellan looks ready for solid playing time. I know strivins will be on the court though. I went to a few open husker practices and thought a few times that she was the better middle compared to holman.
I wonder if holman would squirm if she got moved to RS?. I actually believe Nebraska wouldve been better in 16' if briana went RS .. kadie back to left OH and stivrins MB. Stivrins is pretty elite in practice. Was impressed. I think that wouldve lessoned our vulnerability on out left pin position. And stivrins would be in good strides by the tourney time. They might lost the big 10 early.in the season but i think they would have been a better team then the one h Who.lost in the final.four.
But...... cook does know what he is doing better than me. But stivrins is a gem.
