I wonder what LMU is gonna look like next year. I hope they don't have a mass exodus like San Francisco last year.

The following athletes will be at the USA Tryouts. Good luck to everyone!
BYU Mary Lake
Pepperdine Hana Lishman? (listed as Dallas Lishman so not sure) Jasmine Gross Tarah Wylie
LMU Sarah Sponcil (as a libero? I thought she was normally a setter indoors? I guess her passing and defensive abilities would make her well suited as a libero. I am not sure if she has indoor aspirations or if she is just getting the experience.
USD Kaity Edwards Addison Picha Lauren Fuller Kristen Gengenbacher

But she won the WCC Defensive POY award, and is clearly too small for the OH position at the international level. As a libero, her previous setter training would be invaluable, in addition to her great reflexes and ability to read. However, I personally believe her future is as a pro beach player, as soon as she graduates.

I simply informed the OP that she played OH at LMU, that was not meant to be a commentary on the position she's trying out for on the National team.

I know she is an OH at LMU, but I am pretty sure she is originally a setter indoors. I think she was even on the junior national training team as a setter, so that is what I was referring to. She is good at every position though, so it doesn't really matter for a player like her I guess.

It looks like Gutierrez and Adamcikova at San Francisco are the only people not playing beach this season. I hope this doesn't mean that they are transferring out. I don't see any reason why they should not be playing the beach season, especially Adamcikova who seems to have some good beach volleyball experience.

WCC friends - random observation and a question unrelated to the WCC -
I have been happy to see Sarah Chase playing Sand for St Mary's, hoping this means she's healthy for indoor.
San Diego St question (Mtn West conf but I thought you guys might have insights...) - indoor roster does not include Setter Lauren Utchen - anyone know if she's not returning? I know the indoor rosters are not finalized yet but I was just curious. She will be a Junior.
Thanks as always!

I pick USD to win WCC 2017. I don't know. BYU will have incredible depth on the pins (adding Ballard will be huge with Miller), two solid setters, and a great libero. Question for them will be middles. But once again, it will be BYU and USD owning the WCC.
