I pick USD to win WCC 2017. I don't know. BYU will have incredible depth on the pins (adding Ballard will be huge with Miller), two solid setters, and a great libero. Question for them will be middles. But once again, it will be BYU and USD owning the WCC. It comes down to these things for me; USD is very close to my house...................thus I see them play all the time. The second thing is azvb loves BYU which gives me great pause. BYU is a very good team come 2017....................preseason top 20.

Now I like you even more. Gosh I love San Diego. Especially in August. I'm curious what the Hamson girl can do. Wonder if she will play MB or OPP?

I agree that BYU is loaded again however there are lots of questions with the other programs. Per Rich Kern, there will be significant offense lost to graduation: Gonzaga 85%, Santa Clara 50%, USD 41%. In addition, USD graduates a terrific back court player in Hunter Jennings. On the upward trend is Portland. Pepp and Saint Mary's should be stronger by virtue of playing more juniors and seniors than freshmen. I think there is also a transfer setter into Saint Mary's. New coach at LMU. Other than BYU, ranking the WCC for pre season will be difficult.

I attended BYU's two spring scrimmages against UVU and UofU. I've been curious about what they were going to do with Cozy Burnett now that Ronnie Jones-Perry has proven to be better at opposite. Turns out they are converting her to a middle for her senior season. It's a work in progress, but she seems to be quick enough to block well, and she's pretty good at reading setters and hitters. Hitting is so-so. She has a nice, consistent serve and digs well when playing back row on her serve rotation. I'm very eager to see what happens with this; I think she already looks more comfortable playing middle than she ever did at opposite. Speaking of Jones-Perry, she played all the way around quite a bit, and I really love having her as an attack option on the back row. It will be very interesting to see what happens with Ballard when she comes in.

Does anyone know who the two new LMU recruits are? From the Facebook page it seems like there have been 2 new commits recently. I know one of them is Emilee Rohrer, a 2018 outside hitter who decommitted from USC. She played for Tstreet and then moved to Forza this past season Not sure if the other one is referring to a transfer or not but posted in the transfer thread earlier today, Chloe Reinig is transferring to LMU to play beach next season.

Looks like Adamcikova from USF has transferred to LBSU for the upcoming season. www.longbeachstate.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/041717aaa.htmlUSF no longer has their highest scoring player and also does not currently have a head coach. Also, their starting libero is not on the beach roster, so I have no idea what is happening with her. I am hoping that USF is going to get their act together soon because without a head coach currently, some of the recruits could commit to a different school. I don't know if the school is thinking of picking up a transfer or two, but they need someone who can help improve that program because they will most likely be winless again with their current roster.

This is very unfortunate for San Francisco. Adamcikova, a Czech freshman, was definitely USF's best player last season. Now they find themselves in the same timeframe as last year when they lost their HC in April and needed to find a replacement before they could start filling all the roster positions. They do have a couple of very tall European players (transfers they picked up last year) who will be seniors, and hopefully will stay for one more year. But this is definitely not the way to rebuild what was a fairly strong program 2 years ago. They need to get a new coach on board as quickly as possible.
