(sheepishly ...) I stopped being a gamer eons ago, but have been using Kinect Sports as my (almost) daily exercise routine. Anyone else here does that?

I don't do the multiplayer stuff because that's for kids. (LOL!) I just like the single player offline stuff because that's what older hermits like me do.
I don't know what Kinect Sports is.

I don't play online either, however some of the commentary provided is quite entertaining (you can YouTube for it).

Kinect Sports (Xbox) includes variation of games of bowling, boxing, track and field, table tennis, beach volleyball and soccer. Player(s) stand in front of the TV and Kinect sensor and mimick actions performed in real life sports such as sprinting, jumping, throwing a javelin, kicking a soccer, etc.
The sensor is precise enough to score a player's mental and physical performance, so my competitive nature has kept me interested for over 2+ years and going strong -- unlike regular boring exercise such as treadmill.
It does allow 2 players to compete in person or online against each other in certain games such as sprinting and table tennis, or just to match scores on those one-person-at-a-time-only games. I don't go online. My daily routine is 45-60 minutes playing 6 different games against computer player(s) at my preferred difficulty levels, and I add to the exercise by holding dumbbells.
I had stopped regular exercise for 30+ years until I came across Kinect Sports!

Done with Uncharted 2. Great game. The final fight scene was a real sonofab****. Actually more annoying than difficult. Got my hands on Uncharted 3.
Now playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which I understand is the "best" game in the Call of Duty series. Completed two missions. Died a couple of times. Got lost many many times because my team moves faster than me and once we've accomplished our mission inside a compound, building, or ship, we have to leave to be extracted by a helicopter, but I get so easily lost inside buildings. I'm just running around trying to find the damn exit! (I'm really surprised my team is so patient with me. LOL! In a real situation, my delay would've jeopardized the missions.) And also, it's hard to distinguish the bad guys from the good guys. I know my scope identified "friendlies" with a name indicator, but in the heat of battle, you're not exactly paying attention. Everyone dresses sort of the same way. The good guys and the bad guys. I killed my own teammates three times already so I had to restart from the last checkpoint (because friendly fire is not tolerated!).
I was thinking of returning Call of Duty 4 and exchanging it for Bioshock, because I wasn't sure I'd be all that interested in shoot'em-ups. Turns out, I'm just a boy at heart and playing with guns (in a video game setting) is kind of fun -- especially with the aiming scope. So, I'm sticking with Call of Duty 4. It's growing on me.

I encountered this trailer of Bioshock Infinite by accident and it just blew my mind. I've been told I can play Bioshock Infinite first before Bioshock 1 and 2, but I'm kind of anal re. sequence of movies/video games.

Well I've never played Bioshock Infinite.
Both Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are quite amusing. They are almost-completely linear first-person-shooters, but the scenery and the setting and the goofy weapons (frag grenades made out of tin cans) are fun. Plus, you can get your DNA modified such that you can send swarms of bees at your enemies, who run around shouting "I'm allergic!".

The shooter games have opened my eyes as to my likes/dislikes in video game combat:
1. Although I'm anti-gun in real life, shooting guns in video games is a LOT of fun. Kind of embarrassed to admit it but there it is. 2. I prefer the single fatal shot (usually with a sniper rifle) using a scope. I feel like an inefficient boob if I don't hit my target with one bullet. But when I make that shot, it's so satisfying. So, it goes without saying that I hate machine gun fire. 3. Bombs like grenades and C4 don't do it for me. Ditto missiles fired from RPGs. In fact, blowing up stationary things like buildings just doesn't cut it. Ditto stationary people. 4. On the other hand, firing missiles at moving targets like vehicles, helicopters, and people really hits the spot. 5. I loathe melee (hand-to-hand combat).

Call of Duty is insanely intense. I feel like I'm in an actual war -- not that I would know what actual war feels like. But I do feel a bit shell-shocked after a few minutes of playing the game such that I feel the need to take a long break. A funny thing happens afterwards -- I feel the need to get back in the game and go to war again. Perhaps this is what soldiers feel when they come home. Everything is so sedate and quiet in comparison to the battlefield such that you crave the insanity of the battlefield.

I discovered that I have to play with a glass of water beside me so that I can stay alive. I read online that the game I'm playing, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is supposed to be the best of the Call of Duty games. It's really living up to its billing.

I must've died half a dozen times (at least) in each mission. Usually the damn grenades. The great thing about this game is that the checkpoints are frequent and, it seems it even saves game state between checkpoints. So, I don't have to replay that much.

Over spring break I've been playing Farming Simulator again. Took me a while to remember what was what (I have no farming experience), but I've played it far more than I thought I would. There's nothing flashy about the game, but there's something fun about building up a farm. Eventually, my plan is to buy all 30 or so lots and own the whole town. I will probably need the summer vacation time to get that far. There are different time settings you can choose from in means of how fast the day goes. I originally put it at 15x speed since I saw that was recommended for new users. The day flew by and it seemed like I didn't get a realistic amount of farming work done in one day. So I slowed it to 5x and now I get a lot done in one day. The only thing that frustrates me is there is no bed time or rest time. You literally can go all day and night. So to semi-realistic it, I stop farming shortly after the sun goes down and I do my financial stuff from the porch of my house. I also figure out what I need to buy next to help the farm. I "wake up" at 4:30 or so and check on the chickens and get the equipment set up for whatever tasks I have that morning.
