The Buckeyes started the season off right with a 3 game victory over Dayton. 30-17,30-16,30-15
The Bucks started 3 Freshman.
Danielle Meyer -MB Briana McCarthy -RS Stacey Gordon -OH Nicole Britenriker -MB Marisa Main -S (5-1) Ami Stevens -OH
Anna Tengnas -Libero
Ami and Stacey were the primary passers. N Britenriker went down with a turned ankle in the 2nd game and was replaced by Maya Mapp.

I didn't realize Marisa Main left Xavier for Ohio State. You Buckeyes got one helluva player. I got to see her play last year and was very impressed by her on-court demeanor as a freshman. I instantly became a fan. She's a deceptive setter, plays with a lot of emotion, has a devastating jump serve, and a whip of a left-handed dump.
I thought she was too good to be playing for such a small-time program. Good to see one of the D-I powers scooped her up.

I'm very surprised to see Stevens starting over Miller. I thought Miller played pretty well at the end of last year. Anyone have any details?

There really are no details, nor is it a mystery as to why Stevens is starting. While Miller may have played well at the end of last season, Stevens brings much more to the table. She is a better athlete and does many things well. If you have the chance to see her I think your questions will be answered!
