As much as I enjoy the Iowa recruiting thread, I figured a thread pertinent to the upcoming 2017 campaign will be more relevant and long-lasting throughout the season for Hawk fans.
Coach Bond has truly turned this Iowa program around, in a way fans who suffered through the Dingman and Fredrick years may not have ever anticipated (no disrespect meant, Dingman in particular is very personable and I truly appreciate her efforts). Under Bond Iowa has had it's winningest (by percentage) coach since 1990, and we've seen a slew of exciting recruits and transfers to make an immediate impact on the program.
The 2016 Hawkeyes finished 9th in the Big Ten (9-11), an unremarkable placement to some, but it is Iowa's highest standing since 2008 (9th out of 11). Iowa racked up wins against the bottom of the B1G and key upsets to safely secure themselves outside the cellar (Maryland 3-0/3-0, Northwestern 3-0/3-1, #17 Purdue 3-2, Indiana 3-0, #24 Illinois 3-2, Rutgers 3-0/3-1). All 11 losses on the season came to teams who made the NCAA Tourney.
In 2017 we say goodbye to Loxley Keala (2016 All-Big Ten HM), Ashley Mariani, Lauren Brobst, Alyssa Klostermann, Libby Koukol, Reagan Davey, and Alexa Ito. Truly ladies, thank you for everything you've done for the program, and good luck in all your future endeavors!
Also, special shoutout to Michaela Franklin (Associate Head Coach) for being named the Head Coach at Clemson University. Good luck to you as well! To hear Franklin and Shymansky's kind words you can check out the announcement here:

Spring 2017
Wow, what a start to the 2017 season it has been, we have already welcomed:
And spring season has begun, this past weekend Iowa played some abbreviated matches against Creighton & Kansas State. Iowa defeated Creighton 2-1 (21-25, 25-19, 15-11) & split with Kansas St. (Purple: 25-21, 20-25, 15-7 White: 23-25, 25-19, 13-15) Yes, it is just spring season, but promising start against two tournament teams!
Roster:
Let me know if I missed anyone, I'm not a Rich Kern subscriber. In the meantime before the fall, perhaps we should be looking forward to a walk-on or transfer setter. Orr is our only rostered setterso I don't know who would set the B side otherwise (Kelly, Franck - update: is listed in the press release as a DS/S so that could be our answer, is Peter Gustin a setter? can I come do it?)
And it's very early but I'll take an attempted stab at a depth chart:
Bond has got a lot of options at the pins that's for sure! I'm inclined to think Louis will come in and immediately start at either the outside or opposite. I think the question will be what's more attractive: Louis on the right with Buzzerio and either Reuter or Sheehan on the left, or Louis on the left with Buzzerio/Reuter/Sheehan and either Coyle or Alm on the right. I would think the latter would present a TON of options for the Hawks.
We will also be adding new Associate Head Coach, Victoria Brown to the Hawkeye staff:
