Still haven't seen Averill, nor Watten after the 1st weekend. Jaeschke was on the bubble for Rio, right? Then he's an upgrade just from being calmer. Everybody else, we trust what we'll get. Hope Patch is fully healed

jaeschke made it to rio.
was a starting option vs. russell.
jaeshcke better passing/consistency, but russell has larger attack/block. should be nice to see what hes got, especially with defalco creeping up

Have they changed the schedule? My TV listings are now showing the USA-France match at 5:40pm ET, with Brazil-Canada at 2:00pm ET.

If anyone thinks the USA has a chance to come out of their pool in the final 6 you are out of your mind. USA has gotten inconsistent play from every starter with the exception of Christenson and Sander. The USA just can't keep up with the dominance of France and Serbia.

Over the same Aaron Russell who tore it up down in Rio last summer? You're crazy for putting a kid in over someone who is slightly better than a player who was dominating from everywhere in the olympics.

Keep in mind France and Serbia are even younger than USA. France and Serbia`s average age is 25, USA is 26. This is Serbia`s main squad, but they are all around 24/25 years old. France`s Boyer is only 21. USA has experienced players like Smith, Shoji, Muaguitia.

jaesheke was 2 time player of the year in NCAA, as Soph and junior. Anyone woulda took jaesheke over Russell in college until he got pro after he left a year early to play as the youngest player on the US team. Russell just got the nod over jaesheke, simply because of his strong attack. Honestly, I think jaesheke woulda been the better option in rio over Russell because of the superior ball control jaeschke made it to rio. was a starting option vs. russell. jaeshcke better passing/consistency, but russell has larger attack/block. should be nice to see what hes got, especially with defalco creeping up Jaeschke? Lets just say Thomas is a terrific asset to the A team and will stay there for quite a while. The more pressing need is to develop our opposite, middles and 2nd setter. Sander, Russell, Jaeschke and Muagututia are our 4 best OHs for the next year.

Fivb site now lists the game as 1040pm pst on the 4th. Is this right? I coulda sworn it was around 1pm a couple days ago.
Also: pro-tip: if you are trying to watch it on YouTube, but it's geo-blocked, download tor browser. It's an anonymous browser that bounces off different countries, and as thus bypasses the geo-block
