Yeah I don't get this. The last thing the Cavs needed is a guy who wants the ball in his hands, can't shoot or play defense. If Kyrie leaves it will be a decent add, but how much could Rose play and actually be productive if on the floor with Kyrie and James?

Minnesota has been building for 5-6 years now -- their latest rebuild anyhow. I do not know why they have all the sudden decided on a 2-year plan. Wiggins for Irving? I wouldn't put it past them. It may be the worst pro sports franchise there is. If they get Kyrie the Wolves would have one of the greatest summers for a team in a while. They turn a bunch of nobodies and Wiggins (who is an athletic freak but is flat out lazy and will never be the player people expect.) into Jimmy Buckets and Kyrie Irving( plus added vets Teague, Crawford and Gibson) Talk about from pretenders to contenders!!!

But they end up with a malcontent. For two years. I do not know why Minnesota is panicking. I blame Thibideau. Moving Rubio was an odd move, too.
And if Thibs can't get Wiggins to buy-in to defense, how the hell is he going to convince Kyrie, a guy who then becomes the role model for KAT, etc.? This is a very odd trade to even be considering, imo. You can't talk about how important the team is and then trade for a guy who is obviously only thinking about himself.
Butler -- huge step forward. Teague and especially Irving -- huge steps backward.

While at Kansas Wiggins was projected as a superior wing defender in the NBA, but that never materialized. He should be better on defense with his length and quickness. I agree at times he does look lazy, but African American athlete's often appear lazy due to the fluidity of there movements.

I doubt Cleveland has any interest in Cousins. I also doubt New Orleans would want Kyrie they just resigned Holiday for a stack, and plan to play him at off guard, and brought Rondo in to play the point and feed Cousins.

If they do this deal, they will once again prove they are the worst pro sports franchise there is. They would be good -- maybe -- for 2 years. Then they'd be back to square one AND might have a problem convincing KAT to stay. This is insane.

He is a world class player just entering his prime. Get off the sinking ship now.
Labron is gone next year to LA most likely.
Cleveland is a mess and not getting better.

Often athletes appear effortless because they are just superior in their ability. This is more common in black athletes. It's neither racist or stereotyping.

I don't see panicking I see a team finally making the moves needed to be a contender after over a decade of crap. the Wolves desperately needed to instill a winning culture asap, otherwise KAT walks as soon as he can ala Garnett.

Butler and Irving are 2-year players. Butler might re-up. There's no reason to think Irving would.
All I'm saying is that they are on the verge of blowing up something that Saunders painstakingly built, based on last year. Thibs could end up being exactly the wrong choice for this franchise. It wouldn't surprise me.
I would have liked to see how they would have done just adding Butler and some bench strength. Not to be.

It is true that athletes who don't appear to be working as hard (because they don't need to) are often seen as lazy. Bigots tend to focus on the black athlete because they are resentful about that athlete to begin with -- or, with less malice, just because they are falling for a stereotype.
So I agree with NL that it happens. I disagree that it is "neither racist or stereotyping."
Some athletes are lazy, too. Some athletes who have superior talent are also lazy, because things come easier to them. The conclusions people draw based on race? That's totally something else.
