Pavan holds an "extraordinary ability" green card. www.usavisanow.com/extraordinary-ability-green-card-eb-1/Wilkerson was born in Switzerland, her family moved to Canada when she was a kid, and her father grew up in Texas. I like the AVP requires only US citizens to play, but that they are also more than welcome to all foreigners as long as they have that citizenship. BTW, IMHO the AVP has made enormous strides this year as a tour, and hopefully can continue to build. Is this an AVP decision? I thought I remembered reading something an FIVB rule that doesn't allow international players to play in another country's domestic tours.

I think it is, but if not the FIVB would shut it down very quickly if not. The Brazilian teams + Canada would definitely play, probably a lot of Europe as well, and basically the AVP would be running an FIVB at a substantial discount for them

Jeremy casebeer who does play FIVB when cq allows him has played on Brazilian domestic tour for few years now do not sure how much pull the FIVB has if it even is involved in those circumstances.

All these restrictions limiting who can play where isn't good for the sport, IMHO. It is better when the various tours work together to allow the best events possible around the world.

I dont disagree in theory but 100% of 80 is more than 70% of 100, so I imagine the FIVB will do what it needs to to preserve its monopoly
