Who would USC go after, if they did make a move? Mick's salary would pull almost anybody. Their first call would be to Hugh. I think that's right -- can USC help him out with housing? Who else would be high on their list?

What is USC willing to pay?

I can't imagine Hugh leaving what he has in Minnesota for anything right now, especially not for the jump in cost of living that USC is going to be.

How about Dan Fisher at USC. Isn't he a California guy? I hear he turned down the Illinois job, even though they offered a good salary, because he felt the Athletic department would not support the vball program enough. The fact he listened means he is willing to move on from PITT.

The fact he listened means he is willing to move on from PITT. He turned down Hawaii, and got a considerable raise from Pitt in the process. I don't think Boston College cares enough about Volleyball, what about South Carolina? That seats got to be really warm now

Anyway, I don't know whether Hugh would take the job or not, I'm just saying he'll be USC's first call. USC certainly believes they can get someone of Hugh's caliber, but on the other hand there's always been more than a whiff of arrogance hanging around Heritage Hall.

Bring Black back from Georgia. Not sure what his personal opinion is on bailing on Athens so early, but career-wise it'd be tough to blame him.

We have been house hunting on the west side and south bay. It is darn painful. And just a whiff of arrogance from USC? That's being generous...

Hugh and his family really love Minnesota. I don't know if he would take it or not but he's someone who values a balance of family along with coaching, and his wife has a lot of family in Minneapolis area. Would love for him to stay at Minnesota for as long as he coaches but who knows. I don't know what Mick's salary is or what USC would pay but he makes an awful lot of money there in comparison to the cost of living in Minneapolis.

Maybe he can coach Women's Softball. The Oklahoma coach is now pulling down a sweet $925K/yr. Not sure if that buys a 3/2/2 in Norman, but it's a nice start.

I would hate living in a place so close to my wife's family. And vice versa. All the obligations and hassles and time-draining family get-togethers. It would drive me mad!
