Sounds like Del Sol is going to kick around on the NVL next year with Andrew Dentler, so at this point until he actually makes a committed move he would rather be a bigger fish in a smaller pond. Really hope I'm wrong. Can't really defend that logic from him with his situation but I'm not sure it's warranting someone to continue trashing him and his decisions like what's happening with the Kolinske/Evans and the other NVL guys. I personally love watching Del Sol play, the kid is salty as hell, but until he actually decides to commit to the AVP and proves he can even be a main draw player there, there is no trying to justify his ability. Have to prove yourself with the best.
I still think the NVL big guns are lying to their faces in hopes of keeping them around in case their plans for WSBVB don't go through. Ain't nobody in their right minds going to pay a cent for television coverage for the NVL tournaments, especially since the AVP was probably stronger last year than it's ever been and looks to continue improving on that.

That's kinda strange...The Networks were going to give the NVL a tone of Media coverage before Kerri got injured. They may still throw that deal out to them again when she returns!!!

Which networks are you referring to?
KW playing NVL was never going to happen , it was a failed media attempt & failed union that LA sweep AB into then left him in the lurch.
It hurt the WSOBV. That event went from something to a exposition.
The concept of KW suing the Avp & joining LA in trying to bring down the only real pro league we have is so self centered and contrived it's sadely a bad idea gone worse.
She and April have already been surpassed in media attention & youth appeal by Sara & Kelly.

Kerri can make a phone call to any major sports media outlet in the country and they would take that call and report on what she is doing, assuming its not some wannabe Gwyneth lifestyle brand BS. I doubt there is anyone at ESPN, SI, Bleacher Report etc. who knows who Sara Hughes is. Not a knock but in media terms Kerri is gigantic, April can get attention and Sara/Kelly don't really exist yet

The last thing junior volleyball needs is another organization taking the focus, time, and demand away from AAU/USAV national tournaments and tours. We now have the AVP, NVL, JVA (BVCA), ROX, and ABT all trying to siphon off players with their redundant national tours/championships. Whereas the CBVA and SSVA do a great job of locally promoting the sport, these other ventures just weaken US Olympic prospects and dilute the quality of play. interesting point.Hope lots being done.Need need more dedicated players. Not for everyone.BEACH VB A NICHE.But its for us.

I don't know if DeSol is ready or not, but the team they lost to was a good team. Nate Davis is nice big block, and Rodrigo is arguably the best player in FL. I don't think he is AVP eligible but if he were would be a main draw player consistently

Rod a big help to Nate, for sure.. turning a perineal semifinalist into a consistent tourney winner.

To reiterate: NVL will never be on the same level as the AVP, it's just not gonna happen ever. Players seeking to play at the highest level domestically need to sign with AVP or be called out as posers. It is almost like you are on Donald Sun's payroll.
LOL!

Kerri is STILL Kerri and the 'face to many' of beach. Hell, MOST fans think Karch was still competing last years! Regardless, facts are facts. Yes, Kerri can make that call and get coverage and agree "Who is Sara Hughes" to anyone outside our community. The NVL was always the AA field of the domestic tour and never got above that. Wish they could meld into the AVP, but there is probably more in that equation than we fans see in our "landscape". Manhattan sealed it for the AVP, that tourney was practically 1998-esque...Donald Sun's go/no go meeting of last April or so where he almost pulled the plug on everything (evidently, "it was close") say it all. Hey, I FEEL he is the benevolent dictator till proven otherwise and no one (and clearly not VolleyTalk) has made a case otherwise. We hear "grow the game" and he seems to be doing a pretty good job of it (again, go look at Manhattan stats). All boats rise in high tide, so anything moving up is good for everyone, but you can't have multiple domestic tours and make a go of it (repeat that 32 times)...

Dude is definitely a main draw player caliber on the AVP level and that was a competitive match. Always love that Clearwater event.

Volleyballjim....Do you think Kerri returns to AVP? I am one that believes she will have too in order to attempt for a Toyko run..What is your gut instinct?

Volleyballjim....Do you think Kerri returns to AVP? I am one that believes she will have too in order to attempt for a Toyko run..What is your gut instinct? Tokyo run? First she needs a working shoulder. One that is up to 3 years of intense play. Then she needs a high-caliber partner who is willing to bet two or three years of her life, and her own Olympic dreams, on that shoulder. Sure, rejoining the AVP would make a Tokyo run easier. But do you really see that happening, given all the acrimony. I don't know; I suppose stranger things have happened.
