I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, so please feel free to move this if needed.
I'm organizing a boys volleyball tournament where one division has 10 teams. For pool play, I planned to divide them into two 5-team pools which will play round-robin to decide who advances to the tournament.
However, we have 3 courts available for these 10 teams, and my co-organizers are suggesting that we divide into 3 pools -- two with 3 teams, and one with 4 -- and schedule a crossover game for each of the 3-team pools.
I'm not a big fan of that approach for a few different reasons, and instead, would prefer to see if there's a way for the two 5-team pools to share the 3 courts. One 5-team pool using two courts is well documented, however, I haven't found anything for 2 pools on 3 courts.
Before I sit down to try to figure it out, I wondered if anyone here had already solved this problem or know where I might find the solution. Thanks!

I found this online. Looks reasonable enough to me. I would probably just go with 2 matches to 25 instead of best-of-3 so that things can be more predictable for the schedule. Each team refs twice. No team plays 3 consecutively or sits for more than 2 consecutively. in case it’s illegible: Court 1: 3 v 5 (1) 1 v 3 (5) 2 v 5 (3) 1 v 4 (2) 4 v 5 (1) 1 v 5 (2) 1 v 2 (5) Court 2: A v D (4) 2 v 4 (A) A v C (4) Break 2 v 3 (D) C v D (3) 3 v 4 (D) Court 3: C v E (B) B v E (C) B v D (E) D v E (A) B v C (E) A v E (B) A v B (C) Just to double-check: 1: ref, play, off, play, ref, play, play 2: off, play, play, ref, play, ref, play 3: play, play, ref, off, play, ref, play 4: ref, play, ref, play, play, off, play 5: play, ref, play, off, play, play, ref A: play, ref, play, ref, off, play, play B: ref, play, play, off, play, ref, play C: play, ref, play, off, play, play, ref D: play, off, play, play, ref, play, ref E: play, play, ref, play, ref, play, off
