Not as big a bump as Tamas got last year.... That was more of a 2 for 1 situation since they get his wife for ”free” Or, and I'm just spit-balling here, Tamas is worth more?

Wonder if this might mean Nellie is going back to Portland as HC, she was the assistant there.

Just an observation no value judgement in this statement. Rens never is in a job more than 4 years. That seems more like a Georgetown hire. The original hire may have been too good of a get. I don’t think this is a georgetown hire as Toby’s bread and butter is international players- that is how he wins. Georgetown has an exceptionally high TOEFL which will make it tough for him to do that recruiting. Also, not sure what it matters if he isn’t in jobs more than 4 years. Many in the vball coaching world aren’t.

I agree with turnover being typical though as well.

I think what is A-Typical about Rens is that his haven't really been "upward" moves. Maryland Eastern Shore to Pitt was upward, but after that he had to scramble. The best fit for Georgetown is a good trainer/coach--given their meager funding situation and strong academic reputation--and that is not Toby's strength.

Georgetown has an exceptionally high TOEFL which will make it tough for him to do that recruiting. More importantly, meeting TOEFL minimums doesn't exempt international students from needing to meet Georgetown's requirements for SAT/ACT scores.

This is the women's posting. Convention wisdom says the female assistant, who has been there for 4 years, will get the job. They have been on a nice run, she probably should be first in line. Will be surprised (maybe even shocked) if she does not get it....

Wonder if this might mean Nellie is going back to Portland as HC, she was the assistant there. Nellie's husband is coaching ASU's basketball team. So, unless Portland is also hiring a basketball coach... Also, this ad is for a "Volleyball Operations Coodinator". Nellie's title is "Director of Operations". Wonder if they are adding a new position under Nellie.
