Haggertys and Carlini have gone on record defending Rick Butler multiple times! How the hell can you deny this, too? You are such a muppet for Wisconsin. It’s bad enough that we have supporters of Butler on here denying his sexual abuse. We don’t need a muppet Badger fan denying that the Haggertys and Carlini have posted publicly on social media in support of this monster. If any reporters did real investigative work anymore someone would ask Carlini to defend her support in light of these new stories and videos. You think that would be “real investigative work”? I’m sure the WaPo would be unimpressed with that suggestion.

If any reporters did real investigative work anymore someone would ask Carlini to defend her support in light of these new stories and videos. Do it at her next Addidas sponsored event. Or better yet ask an Addidas Execituve at their next presser about Carlini and her support of this creep. It doesn’t even need to be a Carlini or volleyball event. Reporters: The NCAA Final Four VB is coming soon and hopefully Addidas will be there...ASK THEM? Sadly, it’s difficult in our society for victims of sexual abuse to come forward to expose a monster like Rick Butler. On the news this morning, there was a wonderful piece about a new bill to be introduced in the Minnesota legislature that would fund awareness programs for law enforcement, so they can more effectively help victims of sexual abuse and rape. A member of our community, who was a victim of rape, is spearheading the bill, and she talked about the pain and trauma associated with not being believed after finding the strength to report the incident. I can’t imagine how hard it is for these women like Sarah and Christine to see Butler’s former players call them liars. Adidas will certainly not want to sponsor a player defending a sexual abuser.

^^^^^^^Deflection by RICK BUTLER SUPPORTER You don’t think actual journalistic investigation is important? Because what you called for is sensationalism. How is it an example of yellow journalism to ask the defenders of this sexual abuser for further comment? The public domain has a right to know that these athletes in the spotlight are using their social media platforms to defend that letcherous monster.

I am a long time Chicago area folk and have spread this story long before twitter, facebook, or snapchat existed and people used to just stare at me like how dare I make an accusation like that or spread lies.
Parents know the size and success and that is what gravitates them to have their kids train there, it does not help that the long time area coaches, and former players turned coaches, pretty much have a blind faith and support of him like he is another man.
As long as there is a relative, informative, thread on this board that is active I will continue to comment and bump to the top page. I would love for this man to pay for his transgressions..................Thanks for helping us understand what this man has done to so many innocent people.

I am encouraging everyone to take the article and send it to 3-5 volleyball clubs. I tweeted the article to AAU Volleyball, Big 10 Volleyball, Molly Haggerty, Kelsey Robinson, John Cook, Molly Haggerty, AVCA asking them to defend the relationship. They can't. Surprisingly, SPRI has blocked me on twitter. It is one thing to sit on Volley Talk and "blog". Take action. Forward, share, tweet!

Rick Butler has admitted to having sex with his players while they were still in high school. That is a fact.
That is the only fact I need to say this dude is a creep. Also the fact that USAV banned him from coaching high school girls is another fact. I fail to see why it’s so hard to not support this guy.
Asking Adidas or their star player a question about why she still supports him is perfectly normal and honestly should be expected from the press.

And quite frankly, I question her being on our National Team. I know that’s an over the top statement and it has many layers, but that’s my opinion. Which I know, isn’t worth much. The POTUS doesn’t want athletes that don’t stand for the Natl Anthem on the National Teams! Why would he allow supporters of sexual assault on the National Teams? Nevermind, I forgot that he is also a supporter! Crazy time we live in!

The Butlers also own Atlanta Performance Volleyball, Southern Performance Volleyball, and Tennessee Performance Volleyball. Also Batavia District 101 Athletics should be hit (Lori Trippi-Payne their HS volleyball coach was quoted as supporting him in the article) and Benet Academy (Brad Baker is a huge supporter).

It’s not unreasonable at all to not want a player, who has gone on record multiple times to defend Butler and dismiss the victims as liars, on the national team representing our country and values. Asking Americans, who are against sexual abuse, to ignore Carlini’s statements is just as dangerous as the incredulous parents, who continue to ignore Butler’s admissions to sleeping with his teenage players and send their daughters to SP anyway.
