Who? Or do you mean Gabby from last year and the S this year? Jaden Newsome and Taylor Joachim have transferred out this winter. Both Jaden and Taylor were passed by other players in the 2017 season. Jaden, obviously, losing out to Brynna DiLuzio who ended up as HM All-American along with other awards. And when the Buffs subbed in a different opposite for Joslyn Hayes it was most often Lauren Dorrell, not Taylor. The only times Taylor got in looked to me like it was for her extra couple inches of height as a blocking sub. Yet both these ladies were on their respective Senior Ace list coming out of high school so they are probably looking for a team/system where they can get more playing time. I agree that I'd love to see another OH of the Smith / Shebby caliber join the Buffs as a transfer.

I assume so. Unique for sure. I read this years ago, but it left me shaking my head at these parents. A girl was named Tampon. I hope she grew up and was thick skinned because she needed it.

Slightly off-subject, but it's been broached within this thread so.... Article about a potential transfer rule change and how that might affect volleyball, as part of the change: "Part of the proposal calls for uniformity. In the traditional transfer setting, athletes are required to sit out a year in only five sports: baseball, hockey, football and men's and women's basketball. Under the proposal, transfers in all sports would be required to sit out a year in the event of a traditional transfer. That means volleyball, softball, wrestling athletes and others used to immediate transfers would now have to sit out." www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/proposal-to-let-athletes-transfer-instantly-after-a-coaching-change-picks-up-steam/

At least that is how I read the proposal.

Seems like last year a lot more transfers happened. Is this just the beginning and a lot more will happen? Not sure when the transfers start leaving.

There's usually an end-of-season wave, a post-USA-tryouts wave, and a post-spring-season wave. We're in the lull between the first two.
