Anyway, on Dreschel, this helps Washington escape needing to find a pin in the 2019 class, which is helpful. Don't sleep on her, she's very good, with a solid arm and can put pace on a jump serve. IMO, unless Crenshaw adds considerable power to her shots or Cole develops better timing on her approach, Dreschel has considerably more upside on the pin than anything in the 2018 class. If it weren't for the fact that we'd end up with probably an all freshmen RS blockers, I think Cook should give Dreschel a good long look on the OH. This team is going to struggle in serve receive and we have new setters, so getting our heaviest arms on the left to score some points may be our best outlet to keep up. the good news is that she's played with half the projected starting lineup in prep so hopefully this team can pull a 08 Nebraska and just have that magical chemistry.

I agree about the need for an L/DS, but by my count, with Drechsel coming in, the scholarship cupboard is now bare, unless 1) someone we think has a scholarship doesn't or 2) someone transfers out. I'm assuming any L/DS will need to walk-on.

In some ways the '18 UW season has the potential to be the most interesting in quite a while. Interesting, as in no one really has a handle on how good this team will be. Bottom of the Pac? Middle? Title-contenders?
It's a brand new, somewhat blank slate. And a good indicator of KCook's coaching skills.

Too many freshmen OH’s and a setter to gauge how good of a coach he is. And the Pac is pretty strong next year, we didn’t lose too much to graduation.

Nice pickup but unless they get an upgrade at libero they'll be lucky to play into the 2nd weekend of tourney. I think they have future AAs at OH, MB and S. However they have lost a tremendous amount of digging power in Scambray, Schwan and Co with nothing to replace it.

Just Hazelwood. Oh, and Finau. And Dehoog. Oh, and don't forget Jones. Jones, yes. That's it. And Scambray. And Schwan. Oh, and Tanner. Otherwise. Pretty much the same team.

The PAC - especially Stanford, USC, UCLA - don't lose much. Washington loses pretty much their entire starting lineup.
