If I remember correctly -- Jordan got bumped up to the W U-23 team and set them to medal in a tournament.
Looking at those teams - see how many future AA's on there. Team USA knows how to pick them .. I'll take Jordan over SSS & Jenna Gray all day everyday

It is official Van Dyke will not be retiring to Illinois from her Instagram. Great kid got plagued with injury. Not too mad she probably wants to play and she just won’t be playing when theirs players just a class higher starting. Good time for Tamar’s to pick up a great OH or RS.

I try to understand what you are trying to say here. You mean that it is official that Van Dyke will transfer out from Illinois? Well, if thats the case I hope Tamas and the gang can get some high quality Rs transfer!

It stinks to see Vandyke go but I think it wasnt bc she didnt like Illinois but ti was a person reason. But I see a positive in it too. This freshman class was Hambly's recruits and so is 2018 Diana Brown. Its good for Tamas to get a transfer in and build this Illini team the way he would like the team to be built.

Let's see if Hollowell is next. This "I didn't play as a freshman, so I am going to transfer" is indicative of the participation trophy wave. I wonder if Rick Butler had anything to do with her decision.

#17 in the final poll, nice to see us finally crack the top 25 like I think we deserved most of the season. Next year should be fun! I really hope the coaching staff looks hard for a transfer hitter. Adding a terminal hitter could be the difference between 4-5th place in the Big Ten and competing for a conference/national title. I know another Colleen Ward type transfer is unlikely, but I can dream right?

I hate this rationale and it always comes up around transfers. If you worked at a company where your presence wasn't appreciated/needed, wouldn't you leave for another job? If you were at a school where your major's department, syllabus, curriculum and values didn't align with your goals, wouldn't you leave? It has absolutely nothing to do with wanting a participation trophy so much as it is wanting to actually participate on court. It's a win win most of the time considering the player gets to contribute to a program that wants them and the previous team has a new spot open up. Everyone needs to stop hating on millenials so much and bringing up the participation trophy thing.

And if we’re gonna blame anyone for participation trophies, how about the parents who insisted on handing them out? When I didn't win a starting spot or award or whatever, my parents’ response basically boiled down to “work harder next time and you’ll earn it.” They taught me how to manage my disappointment and channel it into drive to reach my goals. They taught me to get up and grind another day. Show me a young adult who needs a participation trophy and I’ll show you a shortsighted parent who was so preoccupied with making sure their child never had a moment’s disappointment or unhappiness that they forgot to teach them how to be a functioning, independent adult in a world that doesn’t care about their feelings.

They know who is ahead of them and who is coming in with them. They arrive at the school with eyes wide open. Just your comment on being appreciated is exactly what I am talkin about. That's a millennial problem. Given what she did at Sports Performance and living with Butler I'm sure he had something to do with it. I will say Coach Hambly has gone on record saying he never promises recruits playing time. If you don't start work your ass off and earn it. Not I'm Not appreciated so I'm transferring.

Right! And Creighton got bounced in the second round and they are ahead of us. No bueno There are many reasons why people don’t take the AVCA poll seriously
