Preview:
The 2018 Wolverines will be a young, developing team that will likely be looking for some immediate contributions from the freshman class. Skjodt will continue to be the primary offensive threat and will need to get some help from the pins and MB's in order to deter the block always loading up against her. Lerg will anchor the back row and the team will need to see improvement from the returning DS corps. The freshman class is a promising one, led by Michigan Miss Volleyball Erin O'Leary. She is enrolling in January and will likely put immediate pressure on Welsh in the gym. But this is still Mac's team. The spring season should provide a good glimpse at how that position is shaking out.
One of the big questions going into 2018 is who will (can?) fill in the gap at RS. This is an opportunity for one of the incoming hitters to land a spot on the starting squad. At MB, look for Shannon to be unleashed offensively. She and Crocker will be needed to ease the load off of Skjodt and make up for CKW's numbers.
In his season wrap up, Mark Rosen mentioned that the team will be home for 3 of their 4 opening weekends and will be doing a home and home series against Notre Dame the weekend prior to the B1G season starting. The team is also taking a trip to Europe in June. It's a great time to be a Michigan Wolverine - Go Blue!
