And now ND becomes a bigger question mark. disagree. They'll have the same personnel and will benefit from the dialectic synthesis of a "new" coach who brings both continuity and a fresh start.

Even if the promoted can somehow do what JMac did differently, can he find a quality assistant this late that can do whatever he did? I see question marks.

Duke is going to have a big year in the ACC. Florida State will be better than most think.
I think the ACC gets 6-7 bids, Miami is a really big ?. I like Templeton, Lukeanova, and Kolby. But their ball control/defense is my biggest worry. They are going to miss Olga so much.

With Andi Shelton and Emily Baptista, Duke has the chance to have a big year after several down years. FSU has the ability to be good but they have a lot of offense to make up for in their losses. Miami lost some pieces sovit will be interesting to see who fills the needs.
UNC also just picked up Erin Boone, a S/RS from Triangle for this season.

www.instagram.com/andieshelton/Finally confirmation. This definitely shores up the setting issues Duke has had the past couple years. Too bad Baptista changed her mind on coming to Duke. But the returnees and Fr Alex Amos should be diligent enough at OH2 to keep Duke near the top of the pack in the ACC

Shelton should help Duke for this next year before Nazor gets there to take over the setting position. Hopefully Duke can manage to turn things around now that they are bringing in some high level recruits

Duke is going to be better with Shelton. She’s a solid setter who will help stabilize their offense. Only concern for Duke would be libero and OH2. They have good recruits but you never know how the jump from club and high school will happen to the college level. Other than that, Amos, Meyer, and Okiniran will be big pieces.
UNC looks to be getting a good scrimmage in August 16 at Coastal. This will help them evaluate all the pieces they have to place and where. Lot of versatility with this team.

Mike Johnson just brought in Jason Borchin a former Assistant Coach at Cal Poly as his Assistant Coach and Katie Walker from Seattle U (where she was a paid coach) as his Volunteer Assistant Coach. Any thoughts on what they bring to the program? www.und.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/071918aaa.html

Pretty sure Duke wi be just fine at libero. Incoming Fr Mackenzie Cole will be very good at that position for us

Update: there have been some big changes with several teams since the original posts. Here are some of those. Feel free to comment any additional ones.
Notre Dame: This group is always interesting. They started off hot this year and really crumbled towards the end. They lose key seniors in Johnson, Fry, and Kuhn. they will need Yeadon, Woodard, and DeJarld to steer them towards success. New questions becomes coaching staff. While Johnson was very good behind JMac, the question is can he continue to build on his work? Coaching changes can mean big things for a team, but it may help that Johnson was already established there. We will see how this effects ND moving forward.
Florida State: FSU saw a down year. Knuth, Ambrose, and Williams should do well on the offensive end. However, the loss of Kabura, Woie, and Calkins is going to hurt. Berkert and Tiejens will need to build chemistry with new players. Adding Peyton Caffrey was a big get for FSU as was Ashley Murray. Caffrey will help steady the left pin, but I am not sure how Murray helps since FSU already has an abundance of talented middles. Could be that Poole will need a strong RS to replace Kabura and there may be some position switches.
Duke: Losing Bates and Elatrache are key losses. However, with Nelson setting and Meyer, Brown, and Owikinaran holding the middle and Schwantz returning, the Blue Devils should creep back into the top half if they find a solid libero. Losing Bates and Elatrache is a blow; Bates became an all around player and this is good ball control departing. However, M Cole should come in and help with this area. Add in Andi Shelton, a solid setter transfer, and the blue devils have the setting they lacked last year. Middle and RS seem solid, but the LS will be where Duke needs to grow.
North Carolina: The Heels lose Nordhorn and Fricano but return a ton of talent. Leath will have Scoles alongside her on the pins and playing six rotations, Evans will hold the setting duties with Carlton, Borup will join Carlton on the RS, and the middle will be very good with Esterly and Fields. If Fradenburg or Hough are able to win the libero spot, the Heels are going to return to form. Add in the top 10-15 recruiting class featuring Cox, Harrison, and Bell, and the Heels may reclaim the top of the ACC. No team has had more changes than UNC. Welcoming in Schall and Clements as new coaches and the medical retirement of Evans to transition to a student coach. Then, the indoor medical retirement of Scoles, Leath transferring as a grad student, and the exits of Borup, Carlton, Fields as well. These are huge areas to make up in. But, as seen in the Europe tour, Sagula has recruited new players very aggressively. UNC had two main issues last year; setting and libero. The defensive unit is stronger this year with more experience and gaining Hunter Atherton from Nebraska will be a huge upgrade for a strong offensive system. Aristea Tontai hails from Greece and was a strong national team member and had a good outing at CCU. Skylar Wine will bring in experience in a 6 rotation capacity. Also, the Heels add in Erin Boone from local powerhouse Green Hope. UNC will be young but when they click, they will be a much improved UNC team.
Georgia Tech: Like Miami, losing their star in Stabvnechi will require a new leader. Wilson, Clifton, and Komby will carry a lot of offense with a new setter. however, this is a young team with a lot of upside. Collier bringing in Lexi Dorn will help with the weapons she has on the roster. Dorn will be able to get more people involved than just one LS that was leading the team last year.

So 1 month before their first match BC is the only school not to post a 2018 roster (Louisville and Syracuse have 2018 sans freshman). Any rumors out there? Is Kennedy going to blow it up? the last post to their web page was March 7th(typical BC). 14 of 16 have eligibility left. Are the recruits coming? Haven't seen them on the transfer thread. They have posted a 2018 schedule. Their pre-ACC schedule is abysmal. Does it matter? does anybody care? GO BC VOLLEYBALL!
